Back in 2002 I was looking at buying in that area. Looked at Kensington, Talmadge, Presidio area and even Point Loma. I loved the old colonial Spanish style homes. I knew I would be closer to a lot of the action and good restaurants. But instead I bought in North County where you get a lot more home and land for the money, plus it’s cleaner, less crime, less traffic, and more open space. I do miss all the good eateries though. To give one perspective on real estate pricing: My home was $470k in 2002. In 2022 it could probably fetch $1.5 even if I wouldn’t have done all my improvements. And I have updated almost everything from kitchen, bathrooms to building a casita.
scarlett king The fuckin hipsters through gentrification have made North Park sooo expensive to live and now they are encroaching on my City Heights, neighborhood. I fuckin hate hipsters. Everything they touch, they gentrify, forcing hard working families to move out the neighborhood.
