When you revisit Papa Ole's I highly recommend their Pulehu Ribs & Roast Pork w/ brown gravy! Their Aina Loco is also ono!!

I LOVE Gords Smoked Prime Rib!! Damn, I'm craving that now. LOL. Best prime rib at the best price!! My favorite at Papaoles is the Pulehu Ribs. The Peanut butter rolls are awesome too. I guess I'm driving to country side soon. Lol.

Beautiful 🌤🌈🌧🌦☀️ Passing showers! 🏄🏽‍♂️🏄🏽‍♀️ Lai’e is such a beautiful place to live. Hau’ula has Papa’oles and the Prime ribs. So onolicious! PCC has changed a lot. So much to do and eat. I can’t wait to go that part of the island again! Everything was closed when I went to visit my daughter in October 2020. I feel hopeful in July when I come back that we can get some delicious food.

Aloha Amanda & Felix. First, Felix that was one big OUCH (knife)! Garlic chicken looked yumm-o and that pineapple slaw too. Love love love Dole Whip and I'm sad to hear that Bubbie's Koko Marina location closed (I went there and also the closed University locations years ago), they have amazing mochi ice cream (I always loved the lychee and also mango flavors) but am glad to see that you can purchase them still @ Tutu's. That side of the island definitely has a beautiful drive (I always make sure to do that drive each time I'm out there), but I know what you mean about how out of nowhere the heavy rains. Happy to see you both and the food you are enjoying eating, whether it's in the car or in a park :)

Next time you guys are around Kahuku, stop by "Da Bald Guy" and try the pan fried poke and the kalbi. You guys will not be disappointed! We just got back from 9 nights in Oahu and on our last day I drove all the way to Waikiki to Kahuku just so I could get another plate of that deliciousness. He's actually opening up a 2nd location in Honolulu soon called "Da Ada Bald Guy". Amazing food. Only downside is he closes at 2pm currently and sells out of stuff quick. PS - Sorry Felix but he don't have the Coke Zero for you lol. But I'm sure you can find some nearby.

I was at da bald guy 2 months ago and asked him what happened and he said it was too much for him commuting back and forth from Kahuku where he lives to Waikiki and back every day while also taking care of the original location in Kahuku. Still worth a trip for his food. Amazing food, large portions, good prices, and James is a great guy who has pride in what he's serving you.

There's also really great poke on the north shore! I recommend Ry's Poke Shack at the Kahuku Sugar Mill! They just opened early this year and their fish is super fresh! Great customer service! I always get their Tsunami Poke Nachos, but ask for the Hurricane version! :))

Mochi ice cream!!! It's amazing how popular it is now. From a small confectionery shop in Little Tokyo, LA to all over the country and now the world. But I think Hawaii really put them on the map because it was supposed to be a little test market. It just went crazy in Hawaii! BTW, the other food looked good, too.

If you're looking for massive plate lunches, gotta checkout Masa's Cafeteria. If memory serves me, compared to $$$, they used to serve up Choke portions. But that was mid1990s, so they may have down-sized their portions, like Everything else!-smh

I had the papa ole’s pulehu ribs but the sucka was so tough and chewy! Could not even cut with the plastic knife . Maybe I can try something else next time. Will definitely try the prime rib. Mahalo!

Once you went though the tunnel I was waiting for the rain. Thats how it did us but we made the best out of it. Also where you got your dessert 🍨. There is another place across the way that serves some of that soft serve with the waffle cones. Can't think of the name but they stay packed. That Prime Rib is on my hit list!! 🏃💨🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Yeah, when you wanna get the pulehu ribs from papa ole’s you gotta go really early. I’ve seen them sell out of the ribs within the first couple hours after opening. I miss going out to Lai’e Pt.. There were days when I used to go out there and just spend a couple-three hours hanging and reading.

Our son, Joshua Kuokoa, was born at Kahuku Hospital in Laie in 1978. Such a small hospital, had a room and lanai with a rocking chair all to myself. We spent a lot of time at the North Shore - lived in Wahiawa. Not so much of a food scene way back then, but the mountains and the ocean are still the same.

Next time drop by and pick me up so I can go too! lol. ;-) Felix, when you ate that prime rib your eyes went so far back I thought you were going to stop needing your rear-view mirror. hahaha. Sounds amazing. I'll add it to the (increasingly long and unattainable) list of places to go. :-D Maybe next time you're up that way you can drop by the Poi Factory. They have some nice food there, last time I went (pre-pandemic).

Papa Ole's is hands down the BEST Plate Lunch place on Oahu!!! Cannot beat thier Kalibi Ribs! Thick-ass custom butchered Short Rib, cooked to perfection! Even the Burgers are Amazing! Not sure, but I think the burger patties are the same as used in the Hamburger Steak! Just the burger meat is so delicious on it's own. Can't wait for October '23, when I'm coming back Home.

Gord's is awesome!!! Found Gord's Smoke Prime Rib one day on accident. I feel for the money; it is one the best places to get smoked prime rib from a truck! Same parking lot as Papa'ole's. 🍍😎🤙🌴🥥🌻🌸🌈

Papaole is one of our fav. But we make sure to ask for medium well for the ribs. Otherwise they do tend to overcook

Hauula! I used to have a friend who lived there close to the LDS temple. This was many years ago. That town has sure changed. Used to be if you blinked you'd miss the town. That prime rib sure looks ono. I like the way Amanda gobbles down all that ono food. No such thing as being lady-like, just enjoy that good food. I love it. Mahalo for all your videos and for show-casing the local food scene. Hope I can remember all these places you patronize and show case and all the different dishes you order.

***Follow up*** 8-19-21, just got back a couple days ago from Oahu, had a lot of fun there. Pokē`d out. Hauula and Laie point was beautiful, did some body surfing. It is so beautiful there, thinking bout moving back, family totally agree, Mahalo🤙🏽......

Not sure if I’m missing something here but I just visited hauula three days ago and when I pulled up to Gords smoke prime rib at 1 o’clock on a Wednesday he told me he was sold out and “only had ice cream”… this was after asking me if I “phoned my order” ahead of time… not sure if my BMW rental car gave it away that I was a tourist, and just maybe he didn’t want an out-of-towner tasting his yummy plates ? :( but I still haven’t gotten over the disappointment that I didn’t get to try the prime rib…. Nowhere anywhere on the truck or in this video does it ever mention having to call an order ahead… only for Papa Ole’s. Maybe next time when I visit again I’ll get to satisfy my taste buds!!
