A full walkthrough of a Northern class 323 (3 carriage) EMU train.
This video is a full walkthrough all 3 carriages which are all standard class.
The formation of all the Northern class 323 is the same.
The interior of the Northern class 323 is the same across all units. There is standard class seating throughout the train with 3+2 seating.The Interior has been refurbished in the last few years into the Northern blue colour design, however Northern also operate some units in West Midlands Railway colours that are currently transffering between operators.
The class 323 operate on electrified routes in the North West. They operate all services between Manchester and Hadfield/Glossop as well as some services between Manchester and Crewe/Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester Airport and Liverpool Lime Street and on City line services around Liverpool. They also operate limited services to Blackpool North from Manchester and Liverpool. On most routes the 323 operate alongside class 331 CAF Civity.
The class 323 currently in operation with Northern are planned to remain and additional units from West Midlands Trains currently being repalced by the class 730 Aventra will help replace some of the class 319 that have left Northern.
Note that this video was filmed in September 2022 at Hadfield station while the train was departing with a service to Manchester Piccadilly via Glossop.
