Hi Friends, In this video we discuss about Basics of Northern Blotting, Its Principle and Step by Step Procedure.
A northern blot is a laboratory method used to detect specific RNA molecules among a mixture of RNA. Northern blotting can be used to analyze a sample of RNA from a particular tissue or cell type in order to measure the RNA expression of particular genes.

Rather than using Probe in the last step , if we use it from the very beginning then it will be attached with the desired RNA.. So why did that not occur ?

RNA Molecule do not easily binds to nitrocellulose paper or nylon membranes,Blot transfer of RNA molecules is carried out by using chemically reactive paper prepared by diazotization of aminobenzyloxymethyl to create Diazobenzyloxymethyl (DBM) Paper. RNA can covalently bind to DBM Paper.later, some workers developed appropriate conditions to blot RNA bands on nitrocellulose paper and modified nylon membranes

Hanji...gEne of interest ki sequence hume known hoti hai...to uske complementary sequence hum as a probe use krte hai... probe koi 1 ya do nhi hote.. pura solution type rahta hai...pipettes se hum thoda probes lete hai..solution me mix krke , kuch time ke liye is solution me membrane dip krke rakhte hai...taki probe +gene of interest hybridize ho sake...

Hello ma'am, I am in the second year of Bsc & I am confused between Biotechnology & Microbiology and next year I have to select one. I like both of them. I am planning my further studies after Bsc in Canada or USA. But some of my friends say that If you take Biotech then you have to deal with mathematics and give test other than IELTS. Can you help me here?

Gene sequencing se ya to hume pta chalta hai...ya NCBI database se...google per type krna..NCBI.. us data base me gene ki complete detail hoti hai
