Sîtoskâtowin - “to support one another” (See-tos-ka-to-win)
It is important that we teach our children the history of this land before 1867(Canada was formed), or the 1600’s.
It is important that we teach our children about the arrival of others to this land.
It is important that we teach our children how the people’s whom were already here when others arrived on the shores of this great land, helped those others survive and establish themselves.
It is important that our children are taught about the agreements that were formed to equally share and prosper from this great land.
It is important that our children learn about these agreements going forward...the Treaties. Proper dialogue and education (the Canadian education system has failed everyone in not properly teaching this and therefore has lent itself to the ignorance many have with regards to this.) can address and help in this matter.
There is a very rich history to this land that was established before 1867, or if you will the early 1600’s
Northern Cree supports and stands with the great Mi”kmaq Nation as they stand for their inherent right to accrue a livelihood on this land!
The drum is powerful, singing is healing. This is an honour song for our Mi”kmaq relatives on the frontlines, and also our four legged relatives and the water beings.
