I’m from northern Manitoba Canada. Not quite that far north. Flin Flon to be exact. Don’t matter what lake you go to up here. You’re going to catch big fish. Regardless of the species they’re all big. Moved up here and will never leave. Love the Fishing way too much 😉

While I like Walleye fishing Northern Pike are my favorite. I have done my fishing with a St Croix Legend Tournament Bass Casting Rod with 17lb Berkley Mono and never have felt like I needed more on Northern Pike, what I have liked about mono is when they surge by the boat the give of the line I think helps. I have caught some on braid in spinning tackle into the 40's. I love casting to them with a personal best of 47 inch and I have lost count of the plus 40 inch fish, still looking for a 50 inch Northern Pike but they are rare. I will say if you are wanting to do a trip like this is all I can say is go, Guided or on your on your own DIY, its worth the Trip. TC & GB
