The reason for the nose clip is to pull the sucker by the nose not the mouth to keep it alive and lively much longer than the single hook in the mouth

Fish tend to pack on the pounds rather than grow longer when they are at the edge of their max size. Different species exhibit this to varying extends and it is broadly studied as "allometric growth"

Congrats to Nicole for her fish. Come on, Heidi!! Your turn now. As for it not growing longer, could it be a male? Males tend not to get as big as females. If you catch it again you'll have to turn it over and check to see if it's male. Nice to see young couples fishing together. I miss muskie fishing with my late wife. Prime rib and you didn't invite me? grumble grumble lol lol

One of the most passionate anglers I know. She does everything herself, and I absolutely love it. She even loads and unloads an 18’ tiller with ease.

Just finished our namakagon trip with a 45,44 and 32 inch pike. We would've won this tourney if we entered 😂 Wait I thought Michael said not to post anything about namakagon?? Lol I don't get it

A few rules for next year if you decide to be a part of it. 1. All fish registered must be properly measured, not a rough eyeball and add 4 inches. 2. All fish registered must be caught on hook and line. Any fish illegally netted that wasn’t already hooked will not count. With those two rules, you still wouldn’t have won. 😂
