Nah, Ive seen it for $7 online a lot. I can see costco getting a wholesale deal as a loss leader at 4.99, maybe even as a temporary price to move aging product.

They 100% aren't. Supermarkets might put insane markups on it, but any Mexican grocery sells it for about $7. Costco probably buys in such obscene quantity that they can afford to cut the price down even more. This is just conjecture, but I have a feeling the reason you think a gallon of orange concentrate and vinegar with garlic, onion, and spices is worth >$10 is because you shop at supermarkets. Go to a smaller Mexican/Indian/Asian grocery or a Farmer's Market. They're run by honest, working class people who recognize that they're mostly selling to their community, so they only try to make enough profit to take care of their families. The prices are insanely cheap and they'll have stuff you can't find anywhere else.

In canada, or at least ontario, kindergarten is split into 2 classes before you go to elementery school. JK is for 3-4 year olds, SK is for 4-5 year olds and then grade 1 is for 6 year olds

The Hispanic-Caucasian divide is strong here. Badia is a staple in Hispanic households and is known for being the absolute cheapest seasonings and spices of all time, so the price is very much correct. Also so much pain every time he says MOJO like the the villain from powerpuff girls

Shakers are expensive. Buying bulk spices often gets you around 10x the amount for the same money, and that's still packaged for consumers. I thought he said milk was cheaper, but only because of the dairy lobby.

​@@DemonLordSparda yes, This isn't a sauce or a dressing though its a marinade. You could make it at home fairly easily for not much more. 1 gallon vinegar 3.49 juice concentrate 1.29 for enought to make 1 gallon spices and seasonings + garlic and onion

You also don't need a whole gallon for anything, whenever I make a pork butt, I buy like a pint of bitter orange, and the rest is already in my pantry.

And at the same time, in my personal experience, as somebody who does not cook it very often, and to whom it is not a dish that I grew up with culturally in my house from family (so I may be lacking some like simply solutions I just don't know about) I always end up needing more than I thought I did. So I... I can kind of almost understand getting a gallon of it. Especially if one likes it. Because I'm sure that this is stuffed with like all of the preservatives. I just imagine that it is given the shape and size of the packaging. And also the price. I could see somebody with like a poorly sized crock pot or Dutch oven to the amount of pork that they like to make, and a fridge big enough to hold that in there for like 2 weeks until they make another batch or something. For somebody like that I could actually understand the gallon if they liked this brand. Whatever flavor profile it has. But like it is such a weird product either way

Also it is from Costco I think. I think the clips that it was from Costco. And in that context, especially if it's like a family. I can almost actually see going through that much. More so with bigger families of course.
