Instead of satirizing late stage capitalism like the show, it (unintentionally) satirizes peoples blindness to said satire and their unrelenting infatuation with the very thing oppressing them. Like, instead of calling out the obviously BAD thing, they went full circle and just DID the thing with no oversight and DID NOT see the problem. It couldn't be more perfect if you tried man. Now... were they trying to do that? Was that the actual point they were trying to make? Bro... absolutely not. But that makes it so perfect in my eyes. The irony in turning an IP that heavily criticizes capitalism into a cashcow, profiting off of poor people... dude I couldnt make more impactful satire if I tried. It's such a shitshow.

@@americantoastman7296 I think for it to be satire it has to be intentional. Satire is a tool that is to be used. Otherwise it's just unintentionally ironic. At least for me when someone calls something Irony or Satire, it implies intentionality, and often is attributed to things that aren't as an excuse for its existence as a form of art. I highly doubt whoever was in charge of this show was thinking about anything other than cashing in on a trend with little to no respect for the original point. So I hesitate to refer to it as if it's an intentional commentary or piece of art, because it's almost certainly just a soulless cash grab.

@@RetsamX yeah I think it's ethically right to value humans more but it's hard for some people to overcome the psychology of (whether they realise it or not) treating their pets as their kids. Especially severe if a couple doesn't have actual kids of their own, either because it's too costly or they can't for whatever other reason. I definitely cried the most when my childhood cat died than when my first family member did... 😅
