Corruption, Windbreaker, Scarab, Dispossession are some of my favourite Northlane songs. Honestly any song from Singularity and a good amount of the rest of their discography is really good. Hope you enjoy!

I’ve been listening to Northlane since the beginning, and while each of their albums are very different from one another, every single one is a god damn masterpiece. Listen through each album, and even if it doesn’t strike your fancy right away, go back to it a few days later. They are all so good.

Northlane was definitely one of the most innovative bands out there with the Dispossession and Singularity albums. After that they changed vocalists for the Node album, until now. I haven't been totally up to date with the newer, but those two I referred earlier were something really new at the time

Not knocking your opinion dude, but isn’t the popular consensus that node is ruined by its terrible production? Nothing is mixed right: the drums sound fake, the guitars feel tiny and the bass is hardly audible - and the vocals sound a little too echoey. It’s almost like the production was built around the track Weightless and the rest of the album wasn’t given much thought. I personally think Alien has the best production so far, mixing Singularity’s style with Mesmer’s authenticity. Node would be a wonderful record under different production - the difference between the single version of Rot and the album version is night and day. But if you love it, that’s alright.

AtomicToaster Of course everyone can have their own opinion but this is interesting because I totally don’t hear any of what you are hearing on that record, and I am an audio production student going on 4 years. In the end it does not matter what I study because it comes down to subjective opinion. I don’t agree with everyones taste in my classes either, I just say that because I’m not some rando. I’m being trained to listen for this stuff. When I listen to the other records I think the opposite of what you think: that they were ruined by their production and that they would be so much better if they sounded like node. For me, the drums on node sound crisp and natural. I can hear every detail. The guitar on node is huge imo but sticks to a certain frequency range so the bass and ambient guitar and whatever else can shine. This is actually something that ruins a lot of other heavy records for me, because they make the guitars so warm and so overbearing that it sounds muffled to me, and I can’t hear anything else. I have thought about this a lot because node and the contortionist’s clairvoyant are examples of perfect metal production for me. The same thing happened with the fall of troy when they released the reproduced version of OK. I liked the original way more and found the re-made version unlistenable. So I may be the outlier here, but I prefer my production crisp like you are biting into an apple, instead of so warm it’s like you are listening through pillows. If you have listened to the other records I mentioned, I would be curious to see what you think of those.

Quantum Flux riff is so weird for me - it sounds good,but when I,or someone else plays it,it sounds worse for me,imo

FamousKiller vs periphery yes a little boring. But the atmospheric sound is what I love. And northlane drumming leaves a lot to be desired. Very simple

OneS I completely get why people cling to the sound of pre Marcus Northlane. I just disagree that it’s “better”. Northlane has a far more diverse sound now than ever before and I thoroughly enjoy that they are constantly playing with different sounds and diversifying the landscape of the genre. I just can’t get enough of them to put it bluntly. I am glad that there is only one singularity and one discoveries, still love those albums to death 🤘
