No means of offense here, as Trivium is my favorite band and this was a great video, but I think you could've represented The Crusade better with songs like Entrance of the Conflagration, Igniton, or Detonation. That album has some banging riffs 🤘

every time someone represents Trivium they've chosen all the songs that aren't really heavy or technical. Literally every Trivium fan is always saying In Waves and Strife are great songs to show other metalheads who haven't heard of Trivium.

I personally think Like Light to Flies is one of my favorite riffs. Hell the whole song is just fast, unrelenting, and technical. Amazing album overall. The first one I ever heard... Hell I thought Ascendency WAS their first album lol

Agreed! Ignition and Detonation are probably the best album opening tracks of any Trivium record (though Sin and Sentence/Beyond Oblivion are great too)...

Does anyone else think the sound of The Crusade album sounds like it harkens back to an older time in metal ? When I was first getting into Trivium many years ago I’d assumed it was their first album because of its sound.

I know what you mean, it has some elements of thrash and that Metallica/megadeth vibe whilst also drawing from bands like Death (who I think Corey likes but I may have read that wrong) The Crusade is generally one of their overlooked gems as it was a totally different vibe to ascendancy and people didn’t seem to like that but it’s a great listen!

Gotta be honest, I was hoping a little more for Into The Mouth Of Hell We March, rather than Throes Of Perdition, but still a fucking great list. Do want to point out that the riff for In Waves is 15 - 0 - 0 - 0, and not 12 - 0 - 0 - 0 though. Also, the main riff in Until The World Goes Cold, the pinch harmonic is on the 2nd fret 6th string, and not 3rd fret 7th string. They're subtle differences, and definitely don't not trying to come off as a dick, because you nailed everything else perfectly, dude! Can we get a Bullet riff evolution video next?

When I first heard Trivium sometime ago (I was pretty new to metal, so please excuse my stupidity), I thought they were djent. This is because I started off with Silence In The Snow, and Until The World Goes Cold's riff was pretty djenty in my opinion.
