Excellent video Snowlover. I've had my Northstar for about a year now and did not know the pump was an on-demand pump, I guess I never let it get up to pressure. Thanks to your video I just ordered the Valley Wand you use to clean my 2 story house and say goodbye to tall ladders, thanks so much..

Lonnie Thank you, and depending upon how you have the pressure knob adjusted will affect when the pump shuts off.

After watching your video I ordered the same spray gun with my sprayer. I also added quick connects so I can swap out sprayer wands easily. That way I can use the wand that came with it (with the nozzle removed) for watering potted plants and swap it with the high pressure sprayer wand when needed. In hind sight I wish I had used hydraulic quick connects like used on tractors instead of the ones for high pressure sprayers. That way it could be used without any spray wand attached (when using just the booms) since the hydraulic quick connects seal when disconnected. The internal springs on the hydraulic quick connects are stainless steel so rust shouldn't be an issue over time.

So I know this was made 4.5 years ago, but quick question. I have 45 acres, including woods, fields, etc. I by no mean need to spray 45 acres, but I will have to move this sprayer around the property to spray small portions I might want to for food plots for deer etc. How do you think it will hold up to operation on rough terrain? I wonder if something like this would be better or worse than a sprayer that attaches to back rack of my ATV, or UTV.
@djg1028
@djg1028 3 года назад
If it’s rough terrain I would probably get the one that attaches to the racks.

Great review, I am looking at the same sprayer. Have you used it on hills (pulling along the hill, not up and down) and if so does the sprayer want to slide at all or does it pull true? I have ditches on my property that on a county road, so would like to pull along the road vs. up and down the hill.

Jeff Crane I can say that nothing has broke on it and it works great. Used it several times and I did the job great. Always plenty of power with the pump which is nice. As you know I had to make my own hitch to fit my ball hitch and I put on an aftermarket wand from northern tool. And after assembly I had to make sure all the hose connections were tight and always try with water before chemicals but since first try there has never been any leaks.

@djg1028
@djg1028 7 лет назад
thenoizfaktory sorry for the delay, I didn't know and had to check. I measured my cord and it's exactly 8 feet long. It comes with the cord with the alligator clips and you can also purchase the 12V plug cord separately from northern tool and that also measures 8 feet. I'm not sure if you can make it longer.
@USMC-Sniper-0137
@USMC-Sniper-0137 6 лет назад
The longer you make the power line, the larger gauge you should go. So for our 8' power line as is might be 16g. so if you wish to go to 24' you could jump to 12g. and 30 - 40 feet you could go to 10 g. and so on. The thin power wires get hot with ling runs and is harder on your motors, etc. The lower the gauge, the thicker your wire.

@@timothymusson5040 well, it’s kind of self explanatory, if you’re driving too fast, you may not spray the coverage as heavy as you would like but if you drive slower, it’s definitely going to spray heavier, so it really depends on what kind of chemicals you’re spraying and what you’re trying to achieve, but I would say you can go right along at 5 miles an hour no problem
