See the trail conditions and listen to the nat sounds captured from the perspective of NOBO NPT thru-hikers. The 138 mile Northville Lake Placid Trail runs through some of the most remote areas of Adirondack Park in New York State. We hiked the trail in 10 days from 9/8/22 - 9/17/22. We camped 3 nights in our tent, 4 nights in lean-tos, and 2 nights in hotels. We met and shared camp with other NOBO thru hikers and once shared a lean-to with a couple who were camping for an extended weekend. That couple fed us corn on the cob, baked potatoes and bratwurst…a real treat after several days of freeze dried dinners and trail snacks!
Special thanks to Emma, for the shuttle to and from the trailheads and her knowledge of the trail from her thru-hike. To Bob Shuttles for holding our first resupply package, uplifting our spirits and hooking us up with a hiker discount for a fancy stay at the Irondequoit Inn. To the Adirondack Hotel for the classic accomodations, delicious burgers, and for holding our second resupply package. And finally to the Adirondack Mountain Club and volunteers for maintaining this rugged and remote trail.
0:00 - Day 1 - Northville to Woods Lake 12.5 miles
3:25 - Day 2 - Canary Pond 14.3 miles
6:01 - Day 3 - Irondequoit Inn - 15 miles
9:13 - Day 4 - South Lake Lean-to 16.4 miles
12:02 - Day 5 - Wakely Dam 17 miles
17:14 - Day 6 - O’Neil Flow Lean-to 15.7 miles
21:52 - Day 7 - Adirondack Hotel 13.3 + 2 miles road walk into Long Lake = 15.3
28:54 - Day 8 - Plumley Point Lean-to 8.3 + 2 miles road walk out of Long Lake = 10.3
32:45 - Day 9 - Duck Hole Lean-to 16.2 miles
38:59 - Day 10 - Lake Placid 13.5 miles

I truly enjoyed your editing and visual choices. It was great to see the mushrooms so abundantly as well as the more interesting flora and fauna. One of the best NPT videos I have watched. Thank you for your hard work editing and for sharing the trail with us.

Great video - amazing crisp and clear video throughout. Doing this NOBO journey the first week of September. These vides help motivate me. I'm going to try to do it in 6 days with 7 days being the absolute must. Training already! Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for your incredibly beautiful video!! How were the trail conditions? Ticks bad? Also …how were temps day -night temps? I’m thinking of attempting end of Sept into October. You resupplied how many times? where? Many thanks

Trail conditions were tough I would say with lots of blowdowns, some flooding, and mud. It's well-marked so easy to stay on the trail. Resupply at Bob Shuttles in Piseco and Adirondack Hotel in Long Lake. No ticks. Temps were probably 40s to 80s.

Thanks I just used the mic on the Samsung S22+ then adjusted levels and did a little EQ in the edit.

Last question….hopefully. Was that a B&B or something that y’all stayed at on day 3?
@benhikes
@benhikes 3 месяца назад
It's called the Irondequoit Inn. That wasn't our plan but it was really close to our resupply at NPT Piseco Bob's and he recommended it. Nice place but not cheap.
