Completed recent 10 day Iceland/Norway cruise on the NCL Star. Iceland and Norway was amazing. Unfortunately, the time on the ship was not so great. It was very crowded and if you were eating in the buffett it was really hard to find a seat. Dinner in the two main dining rooms you often had a 30-45 minute wait for a table. They gave you a pager. Our toilet would not flush most of the time so we had to use common area bathrooms. I think the NCL Star is old because they came and fixed the toilet everyday. There were overcharges on our bill that had to be worked out I thnk because we did not select the premium drink package like most do (I believe). In fairness, I am not a regular cruiser on NCL so perhaps all of this is the norm now. I have had much better experiences on HAL, Celebrity, and MSC. Think the NCL Freestyle Cruising might be to blame for the dining issues so guess there are pros and cons to that. Its the second not so great experience we have had on NCL so probably stay clear of them for awhile.
The interior of the ship is reminiscent of much older ships. I used to be a hotel officer with Cunard line in the late 80s / early 90s and it reminded me of those days. The food offerings and service delays wouldn't have happened on my watch! Thanks for sharing.
Complain, complain, complain.......I was on the Jewel last Oct and had a great time, with great food and service. Of all my cruises, I have yet to have the perfect cruise, cause things can and will go wrong, but to just point out every little petty gripe, and then expect people to watch it, all I can say is good luck with your channel.
@charlesclawson4588 NCL are one of my favorite lines and I've had some fantastic dining experiences. Unfortunately, not this day. I say it as it is. Thanks for watching 🙂
