Like the laundry hamper idea! I just put my dirty clothes into my suitcase that's under the bed, that way my suitcase is packing itself and I don't feel so bad when I've got to pack! 😂😂
Will be going to bermuda on the jewel in may 2025. Interested in any hacks to make storage easier as well as any and all tips thank you for the indo. Love the magnet ideas
Another great collaboration with another great RU-vid creator. Great work Life well cruised. Thank you NCL for working with some of the most amazing content creators!
One thing that is increasingly more relevant is the location of an outlet beside the bed - there are quite a few people who bring their CPAP machines with them, and having an outlet beside the bed makes life much easier. We sailed on the Joy in January, and I had to get a (non-surge protected) extension cord because the only outlets were across the cabin. Bit of a pain ( and a trip hazard), but we managed.
Just a comment for you and your viewers of something we discovered during our last cruise. - We had always thought the laundry service was too $$$ - but we took a ship tour on our last cruise and discovered that the laundry staff were a very small group of very hard worked people. They did all the laundy for the ship including all the uniforms for the crew. Just think about all the sheets and towels and linens from the dinning room each day. Then the uniforms. So we now know that the passenger laundry is on top of that for these hard worked people who we found out are not even allowed to come into passenger areas of the ship (EVER), so they cant come up to the passenger decks of the ship. So we now bring our own laundry detergent pods and went to the laundry a couple times to do our own. The washer and dryer on our ship (Carnival Spirit) were $3 per load each and took the sail and sign cruise card for payment. But if you needed laundry detergent, it was about $12 (our little pack of (Tide) pods were only like $4 and would do 10 loads of clothing). So we spent $12 for 2 loads of washed laundy for our 8 day cruise ( and we did not wait for a machine one time). Just a little FYI to help you guys. TTFN
Please note that not every ship has self-service laundry. This would be something that you would want to find out prior to packing super light for an extra long cruise thinking that you're going to wash and reuse those outfits.
Since we also have a standard balcony on deck 10 when we sail on the Pearl in December so getting to see what the cabin will look like and the hacks you used are extremely helpful. Absolutely love the fact they have the lighted mirror, one less thing to pack. Thanks so much!
96 days to go! Sailing on the Jade to the Carribean in Feb. Flying out 2 days before. There is always the chance for inclement weather flying from Maine to Florida so 2 days is safer. (I would rather budget on 2 days hotel than miss the ship!) The Jewel Class ships are our favorite. We preferred it over the bells and whistles ships. We did not ride the waterslides, drive the race track, play VR games nor laser tag. We found the larger ships crowded as well. The Pearl is very similar to the Jewel and the Gem which we love! Just hoping there is a hint in the new carpets as we are all the way aft! 😂😂😂😂 (Thank you again for answering that question for me!)
😊 thank you for this ❤ I'm sailing on the Pearl Transatlantic from Barcelona in a few months. The cabin redo looks AMAZING!😊 I love the pull out magnifying mirror, thanks for the heads up, won't pack mine❤
The interior cabins were nice! I have a quick look at this cabin on the ship tour on my channel, but unfortunately I didn’t take notice specifically of the clothesline. I have the feeling it must be there, but maybe someone who has stayed in this cabin can confirm
Another great video. You have saved me from many "head scratching" moments when trying to figure out what to do or take on a cruise. You are my go-to for your tips and tricks. Do you have a video on the NCL Sun? 11/27/2023. Will be my first cruise since 2018. I'm looking forward to it! Thanks again for all you do.
Great content Ilana. We will be on the Pearl in January can’t wait. Love NCL and the jewel class ships. We have met so many NCL team members through the years and we always look for familiar faces when we sail
Thank you again for another great video! Is the European outlet 110 volts 60 cycles or is it 220 volts 50 cycles? We have a 26 day cruise coming up and we got foldable laundry baskets which should work great!
We are looking at booking NCL for a Mediterranean cruise in 2025. Dawn was one we were looking at, have you done that ship before? Apparently, very old....I am skeptical. Pearl looks amazing. We like NCL. Understated elegance! 🙂
I'm almost 50 and I will be going on my 1st ever cruise on this ship, on this level and in one of these rooms. We embark on Jan 17th, 2024 and I am excited and nervous at the same time. Thank you for showing me a little bit of what to expect. My only concern is I couldn't find information on if I could bring a USB Hub (with multiple usb ports). I know power strips/surge protector strips are not allowed but would my 6-port usb hub that plugs into a wall outlet be considered a no-no?
Loved the review & the cabin (hoping for an upgrade for our December cruise on Pearl!) When you were in the hall way, I noticed the doors are “louvered” on the outside, does that mean it wouldn’t be possible to put door magnets up? Thanks!
The balcony cabin looks sooooo nice but it’s £1200 more per person than and inside for 10day cruise. I couldn’t justify that extra that’s £2400 for 2 people. any tips on can you ever upgrade for less nearer the time ?
