We love NCL and have cruised with them many times for many years. We first tried Carnival and it was nice but like someone else remarked that there were "kid heavy", and way too many people were out of control. We went on NCL next and have never looked back. The staff and room and promotions are the best. No cruise line is perfect but we are very happy with NCL.
Thanks for great video. I'm experienced solo traveller - both at land and cruising. Btw loyal to Norwegian since decades. I can agree, that they have the most experience with solo travellers. And they have the best pricing system for solo travellers. You don't have to pay twice like still with other cruise lines. Norwegian has special designated solo cabins or/and solo studios shown in video, these cabins are only for one guest and the price is just for one guest calculated. Also fees/taxes/gratuity/service charges are only for one person. You find these designated solo cabins when setting filter in booking to one guest. There are even solo balcony cabins. 😁 And look out for promo offers as mentioned in video. With my last several bookings in 2023 I checked with my PVP at Norwegian special offers for solo travellers and so I've paid just same price as one person had to pay half with double occupancy. And for my coming Alaska cruise with my beloved Jewel 💎💖in October 2024, it's the same - 1 guest = half price in solo cabin.
I was recently on the Norwegian Dawn sailing from Cape Town to Barcelona 😂 … the one on the news which left behind 8 people on São Tomé lol … quite an ‘epic’ sailing
I really like Royal, Norwegian, Princes & even MSC (for beautiful new ships on a budget), but my all time favorite is still the old and especially the newer Vista class and most definitely the newest Excellence class Carnival ships. I typically alternate between Carnival and then one of the other major cruise lines per cruise 3 times per year.
it all comes down to what you prefer. both cruise lines offer cheap 7-8 day cruises, but carnival is more family & kid heavy. definitely louder and roudier but if you are there for a good time then its the ship for you. NCL is more laid back
Every line has a demographic. Carnival is the last line I would cruise on. I have tried them twice and it is like shopping at Walmart. If I have no choice, I shall shop there. If I have a specific window and itinerary in mind and only Carnival fills that gap, I shall cruise their line. I take that back; Margaritaville is the last line I would cruise on. Carnival is the next to last line.
Carnival is alright, but you get what you pay for. It's cheap, and it is cheap for a reason. I've splurged on an expensive carnival cruise and it was pretty good and the demographics weren't bad either. If I have the dough, Norwegian is always a winner. I like them, Princess, and Viking River cruises.
Kids-- If you are traveling with a kid under the age of 3 Norwegian has NO childcare none! We booked expecting a fee based system of sorts for childcare they had nothing for our Toodler that was 2 and would not be three for another month. PARENTS OF BABIES AND TOODLERS BEWARE
As someone that pretty much exclusively travels solo, I have not found this to be true. I have seen other people make this claim, but NCL has nearly always been my cheapest option.
NCL sees demand for solo travel far higher than number of solo cabins. The math actually varies by sailing whether a solo cabin saves solo passengers money.
NCL has awesome activities and definitely has fun parties; really depends on the ship, when and where you go on a cruise. Carnival definitely has more young adult groups while NCL has more fun activities.
@@AshRektum It is not that. For people who like to party Carnival is the people to see. I got past my hard partying and drinking about half way through my stint in the Navy.
it's that way because they are cheap. if other cruises were as cheap as carnival, they would have college kids drinking. I agree with what you are saying but I just think there should be more cheap cruise options. Norweigan Cruise Lines isn't too bad
@@AshRektum Agreed and NCL is always running specials keeping them less expensive than most of the cruise lines as long as you do not get caught in their nickel and diming you to death.
