Blindowl Music Videos are created with an emphasis on learning/education, and are generally different than most other videos on U-Tube in that they are historically accurate and more akin to a "time-capsule", than a music video. All are created from scratch and nothing is ever copied from another video that is on U-Tube. A lot of research is done in the making of a "Blindowl Video", so you can rest assured that all the information presented is correct. I hope you enjoy my videos and like, subscribe, and comment on them.
Sincerely; Joseph Cowan
Blindowl Music Videos (The Rubber Soul sessions part two). The second song attempted by the Beatles for their "new" LP "Rubber Soul" was recorded on October 12th, 1965. The Beatle's first attempt was a complete version and just fine as it was. Originally titled "This Bird Has Flown" it was changed to "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) when the song was re-made on October 21st, 1965. I will make videos of all of those version too but I am doing "Rubber Soul" chronologically. This was the first time the sitar was used on a Beatle's recording, and the first time a sitar was ever used on a pop/rock record as well. A ground-braking piece of history. This changed the music scene quite a lot after it was released. Many rock bands then started to use the sitar on their records (some were good, some not so good), but innovative at the time.
I hope you enjoy this video, some of the photos are from the "Rubber Soul" sessions but not specifically during the recording of this song.
Thanks for watching!!!

In the picture of Paul and George the instrument is a Tanpura and not a sitar. The instrument can be heard on the released version of the song.

Thank you Andrew, glad you enjoyed it. I am working on Norweigian Wood takes 2, 3, and 4 currently and hope to have that up in a couple of days. The issue is always the copyright, in which they will block the video, so I hope it will make it to my channel unblocked so everyone can see how the song transformed itself.

Great channel, thank you for uploading these gems. May I ask, would you happen to have the mono recording of Tomorrow Never Knows? It was on youtube some years ago but now I can't find it anywhere and it drives me crazy. In any case, thanks again for posting these studio outtakes for us Beatle fans.

I do have the mono mix, sorry to get back so late on my reply. But trying to show it here on u-tube is quite another issue. They are blocking almost everything i do now.

Thanks for the nice comment. I have hundreds of hours of material. The problem recently is that u-tube has been blocking this from being presented here. Otherwise I would have many more videos available. But thank u for your comments.

As with a lot of their work the vocals I will say are better (some would argue that one) I will say though that the vocal are slightly different, cheers and thank you for posting.
