In this video, I am reacting to the teaser trailer for Focus Features' Nosferatu that is scheduled to release December 25, 2024. Nosferatu is a supernatural gothic horror film written, directed, and produced by Robert Eggers. It is the second remake of the 1922 silent film of the same name, which in turn is an "unauthorized and unofficial" adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult (who’s one of my fave modern horror actors), Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe.

Haha this type of movie is far more mellow than more traditional horror movies. This is like gothic drama with horror elements, which is so my jam because I don’t love jump scares. Like you said, they do a number on my nervous system haha

Teasers are exactly what trailers should be. I don't think there are any other remakes, but Willem Dafoe was in Shadow of the Vampire, which was about the making of the original movie.

100000% agree! I understand the marketing team wants to do all they can to peak people’s interest enough to fork over $20 to get people in the theater seats, but it’s ruining the movie magic for me! And I can always count on you to come in with the facts and pop culture nuggets 😍 I did not know that movie existed but I added it to my watch list for vampires 😂

One of my most anticipated films of the year and I'm so excited to see Bill Skarsgard in this role! It's also really cool that Willem Dafoe is in this, as he was in Shadow of the Vampire back in the early 2000's!!

I would never know about any movies if it weren't for you and Katrina. I also hope that they put some new twist to it....only because we have seen so many adaptations of this story already. Excited to see this one!

I didn’t even know this was being made! I wasn’t expecting it to be so creepy but I was sitting in a dark room so it got me lol I’m definitely looking forward to seeing this in theaters! Some remakes though I do feel like they’re beating a dead horse and I’m just like.. ANOTHER ONE?!

After The Witch and The Nortman I don’t need a trailer to know that I’ll be first in line to see any Robert Eggers movie. Usually I avoid the movie trailers like plague but teasers don't reveal too much, which I like. To be honest, I didn’t paid attention to the clip you show here, I love that you put it as a small rectangular. I am also huge fan of all the Scarsgard’s family. This will be a big hit I’m sure. 🕯🕯🕯

I love that you did a reaction video! I am looking forward to seeing this but I'm not sure if I'll see it in theaters or wait for it to be streaming. I am excited to see what the new incarnation of Nosferatu will look and act like. I'm all for a new interpretation but I hope we get little easter eggs and homages to the OG, like not having Nosferatu blink.

I LIVE for Easter eggs in movies!! I read Dracula right before I saw Last Voyage of Demeter in theaters and there were so many. I had fun unloading all of them on him unsolicited 😂

Vampire queeen Ooo the aesthetic for this movie 🙌🙌🙌. Perfect for winter. Girl I thought that was Rachel Zegler LOL Your reaction at the end of the trailer!! You look excited! Yess I am glad they kept the mystery alive with this one 🙏 I think a remake of classic can be a good thing esp since we are constantly evolving technology wise expanding on what we can do visually with a movie. However, I am very tired of seeing Cinderella remakes 😡

That’s such a good point, Brooklin. Sometimes it’s actually super cool to see the story done on screen as big and bold as it can be with all the technological bells and whistles. Oh I can totally see how that would be frustrating as I know you’re a fairytale retelling connesuier (literally no clue if I spelled that right but hopefully you get what I mean haha). Has there really been that many remakes?? I just know the Disney one and the one staring Brandy off the top of my head.

I always love going on solo dates to the theater, sometimes at the same time as my Fiance is there too but seeing another movie. We time it just right. 😂 Just something to consider!

Hard agree that trailers are ruining too many of the surprises that makes seeing films in the theatres so much fun.🎥 But I thought this one was really good at giving atmosphere while obscuring a lot of plot details. 🍿When they first announced the film, Anya Taylor-Joy was attached and I was stoked for that casting. Definitely less excited for this cast, although Emma Corrin was excellent in The Crown so I am really interested in their performance.🦇 For me, I think this is probably a wait for streaming🧛‍♂

The cast change reminds me of how Ryan Gosling was originally cast for the Wolfman remake coming out this January. They have a far lesser known actor in his place. Gosh, even just bringing up that movie reminds me just how much Hollywood LOVES remaking films these days 😂😂

I am on the fence about this movie. On the one hand, I love all of that gothic atmosphere. On the other hand, I am tired if Hollywood remaking classics. I love the silent Nosferatu and the 70's adaptation. We did not need another Nosferatu film. I will keep an open mind though and see it.
