Actually it’s based off the original silent film Noseferatu in 1922. It was also the first film adaptation of Dracula but yes SpongeBob did clip a scene from the original film

Willem Dafoe also starred as Nosferatu in the movie Shadow of the Vampire (2000) based on the making of the 1922 movie. This one looks deliciously devilish!
