Hi, i'm millie!
I am autistic and ADHD, and I'm trying to leave the world in slightly better shape than when I found it. I am working towards this goal by focusing my life energy and experience as disabled and neurodivergent into disability advocacy work.
If you like what I am doing and would like to support me to be able to continue doing it then any contribution, however small will help make that happen, and you will help me get closer to my dream of a society that is more accepting and appreciative of neurodivergent people and people with disabilities.
Thank you.

Hey Millie, another great video! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this and for being so vulnerable. It gives me courage to be more honest and open about my own neurodiverse ways and to challenge my own shame in a healthy way. I also wanted to share that I found the sound of your fingers typing during your AAC segment immensely soothing! Mmm... what a pleasant sound. Very calming. I appreciate you ❤️

thank you I appreciate that! And haha yes I like the typing sound as well. I don't think I get real ASMR type response in my body but I do find that sound soothing as well.

Just re listened because this speaks to a bunch of things in going through recently. Well, always but feature topic in my life recently. Your clarity of thought and openness is a goal for me. Sure, we're not always these things, but you make sense in an often nonsensical world. And your vocal tone is excellent.

thank you Heath that really means a lot to me! as you say these are distilled moments of somewhat rare lucidity captured on video but anyway 😊. I'm appreciating my voice more now because it seems to calm people and I like to be able to that!

Hi Millie! I totally relate to what you said about shame, voice dysphoria, stimming in public and empathy. I'm also trans, autistic, and have ADHD.

Thank you for this. Brought home some of the ways I’ve been shamed out of things over the years: sucking my thumb (which I did till I was 9, and now realise was a form of stimming), infodumping about special interests

I am so amazed how you share and in the process reduce shame and stigma for others. I love the AAC demo snd how you close on masking is so powerful!

Thank you, yes I hope it helps! The AAC part was the least sure I was about how to do that but i'm glad i left it in as is.

This is really great! Ive had so much trouble communicating too. I had silent times in high school, a lot of them. Yes. The Healthcare in Victoria is total shit. i have found great health care here, amazingly. Oh, its so true, kindness means everything. Yeah, I think I have complex trauma too.

Thank you for sharing your experience and vulnerabilities. Reframing shame is something I'm working on too, and it's a biggie. The more we share our ND lives, the more community we have. I know it takes great bravery & you've done such a fantastic job. I hope you take the time to celebrate how far you've come in discovering and asserting your truths. (Completely random, but I love your hair 💜)

thanks so much! yeah the reason I want to share is because these kinds of videos by others have helped me so much in figuring some of this stuff out. I wish the burden wasn't so much on us to figure things out but it still helps to look out for each other as much as possible

I really appreciate this video. Including the pauses while you type. It helps me process more deeply 🥰 I havent used assistive tech so far but my alexithymia is ...strong. And i process better in writing than out loud. So i often need to write before responding to folks anyway. And i similarly hold very still and get very quiet when overwhelmed. Maybe it would be useful to show people notes in that state and/or use text to voice options. Thank you Millie!!!

Personally, i think of shame as when I have let someone cross my boundaries. Of course, if someone had crossed my boundaries when i was a child it was not my fault. But I will be triggered by similar incidents now. i really think that shame comes about when one person thinks that the other has to be 'ok' with something that they are not ok with. Ie--forcing ones beliefs on someone else. If i believe that person then i feel shamed. If that other person wants to make me feel bad they are a manipulative JERK. Now, if two people consent to working on this stuff in a vulnerable way thats awesome. Today, I had a jerk try to MAKE ME have a conversation on HER FB profile with all her friends watching, backing her up....what a set up. Im barely friends with her and she crapped all over my boundaries. Nope, there is no point in dealing with someone like that.
