Beautiful people, beautiful outfits. Amazing culture .

Russia has recovered, the Russophobic West has been kept in the dark and ignorant. It is wonderful to see the positive aspects of Russian culture and its people. We are being shown a time in history that will never return, but, thankfully, has been preserved so beautifully by photography.

This is amazing! Always loved ‘War and Peace’ and this presentation makes me fall in love with Russia even more 🕊️🤩🕊️

I don’t know about anyone else, but, I find these photographs absolutely stunning. The women in their National dress are particularly beautiful.

I have Russian roots, although I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I am proud of my Russian ancestors and family, the last of the Don Cossacks!

It feels so sad watching them, seeing them so full of life and knowing the fate that awaited for so many of them😢

My Great grandmother was a Princess. Photos like these give me a look through time. A sense of past and a continuum of who we are. How the world would be different for all, if the revolution never happened.

these photographs are absolutely stunning in beauty, richness of colors, clarity and the characters seem as if they are real and present to this day. It is so heartbreaking to see so much beauty of the russian aristocracy that would later be destroyed after the revolution. One can feel why the russian classical music and arts are always so moving and heartfelt, when you look at these people and how they were dressed, how they were holding their stature, how proud they were to be part of Russia. A lost beautiful country that will never be the same again after it was taken over by Lenin and his disciples. This video offers us a glimpse into the fairytale portal of those forgotten times. Fascinating and beautiful! My three daughters and two granddaughters and my husband are of Russian ancestry, his paternal grandmother was born in Kiev and other relatives from Smolensk. I'm a former retired NYC fashion illustrator who studied the history of costume/fashion in fashion art school in NYC so this was most interesting to me. Love all the details of the costumes as well as the architecture! I also have a perfume named after Anna Pavlova, the famous ballerina called "Pavlova"! There is a much lived dessert enjoyed in Australia and New Zealand called Pavlova, said to be named after the famous ballerina. A chef saw her perform and was inspired by her beauty and performance. I often wondered what the real Anna Pavlova looked like as I’ve enjoyed this dessert. Now I know.

Some of the Russian photographers were pioneers of color photography. Of course there seems to be much hidden about the empire of Russia. Also hidden is the cruelty in the personages of Lenin and Stalin.

Klimbim's talent is unmatched, one of the best colorization artists ever I would say.

I saw a book back in the 1990,s published in French and containing hundreds of Photographs of Russian soldiers and officers, in particular the veteran palace guard company. I always regretted not buying it, does anyone have an idea of its title?? The pictures were taken around 1900-1910 I think, and it was entirely in French.

Im Sommer war sie immer bei den Tanten im Kaukasus gewesen. Ja vergangene Zeiten die nicht wieder kommen. Hoffe nur das Russland , einen besseren Weg gehen wird , als jetzt !!!

At 20.18 the soldier with shells depicting X and B, X is for Christ as it is pronounced in Russian, and the B is for the Russian letter V, used for the word Risen, so together it means Christ is Risen, the normal way a Russian Orthodox person greets another on Easter Sunday and for days after....................

Imperial Russia was a society with any number of injustices and inequities; but these pictures make it crystal-clear that it was an incomparably more HUMAN society than the steel-cage totalitarianism that succeeded it. Your heart breaks for the children in these photographs, at the thought of the horrors that lay In their future.

Don’t forget the flip side of this squeaky clean presentation…a starving working class. Peasants working their cold hands to the bone while well fed cherub upper class children pranced around in the finest lace. The imperial court dripped with the finest jewels & discontent amongst the common man was about to explode. Please do a sequel to this & include the horrible living conditions of the working class. Revolution is not a tea party.
