Absolutely a game changer! Words cannot express how great Ed's artwork turned out on the body panels. The J&J Speed and Machine "Jumping Jack Flash" nostalgia front engine dragster looks amazing, and this is exactly the "vintage look" I was going for. This slingshot dragster would look great in a photo smoking the tires at US 30 Dragstrip, Lion's Dragstrip, OCIR, or any of the other old school tracks from the past. Only if they still existed....
Okay, back to reality, I can't wait to go drag racing, but we need to focus on getting the dragster project done. In this video, Jimmy and I tear down his vintage Hilborn mechanical fuel injection. This the 327-C-8B model but has been highly modified for drag racing. This injection setup has been sitting for quite some time, along with the fuel pump. As we dig further into the disassembly, we realized it is time for a freshening up. It will need all new seals, o-rings, and hoses. No biggie, a few quick phones calls and the parts will be on the way! We even ordered new fuel nozzles specific to the cubic inches, compression, and fuel we are going to run in Jimmy's real fine 409 small block Chevy!
Jimmy and I are really looking forward to firing up the engine for the first time, that will be a very exciting day to say the least. The dragster has come a long way since late December when we started with an old top fuel chassis and cut off over 75% of the car! Stay tuned my friends, a lot of really cool content on the way from . Be there or be square!
