What a weekend so far! Jimmy and I have been really working hard on getting Jumping Jack Flash, our nostalgia front engine dragster, completed. The 409 small block Chevy and Powerglide racing transmission are installed, the body panels are painted, and all lettered up, and we have parts on the way for the Hilborn mechanical fuel injection. So, what are we going to do? You guessed it, time to shift focus back onto the "little things". I know I have mentioned the "little things" a lot, but I cannot stress to you how important it is to not overlook the things that truly take the most time and can prevent you from meeting your goals. 2 Hacks Garage always has a plan for this, teamwork always prevails.
Trust me, I am ready to pour in some methanol, do a huge smokey burnout, and go drag racing! But my focus right now needs to be on making sure we are ready to do that the right way and safely! One highlight of this video, installing the Hurst shifter. Hurst is truly an iconic brand and has the performance you need when it counts, and it looks amazing with an old school vibe! I picked mine up from Holley, a link to it is listed below. All of my projects use Hurst shifters, I wouldn't settle for less!
We still have a bit of work to do, but at our current pace, it is getting much closer to firing up the engine for the first time and then hitting the dragstrip to get our licenses. The vintage drag racing scene is what I really enjoy, to me it is where it's at. That being said, there is some really exciting content on the way, so stay tuned! Be there or be square!
