Get a nice spatula and don’t be afraid to press hard downwards all in one go to lift up the patties and you’ll keep a good crust on it. It’s just my 2 cents but I’ve “professionally” cooked over 10,000 burgers. Also, if you make them kind of like a flying saucer where it’s a little thicker in the middle and real thin around the edges as soon as the edges start to get crispy and you flip it and cheese it, by the time the cheese melts it’s perfectly cooked all the way through and not dried out. Keep the patty press more even and level with the grill and keep good pressure when sliding it off to keep it from tearing. And you def need a spatula bc using the grill scraper to flip the patties is heart breaking

Try and buy some deli american(i usually buy land o'lakes), slightly more expensive but, it has a way better melt and flavor(In my opinion). Good looking burger for being made in 2 mins though. Cheers!

use was paper squares to smash the meat, I worked at a smash burger bizz and that’s what we did do it doesn’t not stick on the press and it gets a better form cause squish them is not the best
You smashed the burger and then proceeded to scrape off a little corner piece that wasn't Incorporated with the rest of the smash and proceeded to scoop it into the disposal now that sir is Ocd
