Days before he died, I was listening to one of his stand up specials. One of his jokes was how much it sucks to be dead, and worse if you lose a battle with cancer, cause not only are you dead now, but now you are also a loser. If he dies, then the cancer dies, which as far as one is concerned, that's a tie. RIP
Say what you will about Thatcher, but at the end of her life she was actually very progressive. Her funeral is a classic example - her burial site was the first gender-neutral public bathroom in the UK's history!
In her defence, she did save the economy Yes she did it in the worst way No I don’t agree with how she did it No I wouldn’t want her in power ever again BUT, she did save the economy, she could’ve just let it get worse, but instead she took drastic measures, OTT IMO, and it did work
@@richardhobbs7360 except that she didn't. By the time she took off as the economy was already on an upward trend of recovery, it's just that it didn't Peak until she was in office. It's also worth noting that the economy was terrible largely because of policies that she supported even if she didn't put them into law herself, so that's a bit like smacking somebody over the head with a shovel and then expecting thanks when you hand them a bag of ice

Well, youtube kept recommending this to me, and I decided to click it. Have to say, not disappointed by the result. Not quite what I expected, but then stuff youtube recommends to me rarely is.
I‘ve recently been reading a book about the great Miner‘s Strike 1984/85 and let me just say, I hope it was painful for her. She provoked a strike and spent billions of pounds (far in excess of what it would have supposedly cost to keep all the pits open) to destroy not only the NUM but all trade unions. She also made fake deals with other unions to prevent them from striking which were broken immediately after the NUM went back to work. She sent 🐷🐷🐷 cavalry against unarmed picketers and lied about pretty much every aspect of the strike. Her government also covered up police responsibility for one of the worst tragedies in the history of English football and intentionally blamed the whole thing on Liverpool fans.
