Best coach MLS has ever had. Will take a bit more time but everyone else will see it too

There were 3 black managers at the start of 2023: Nancy, Hendrickson, and Fraser. The last two were fired during the season... I feel bad for them, but their teams weren't performing well (we can't blame 100% on them but managers are the easiest to fire). I think generally there will be a 40-50% manager turnover each season (most non-playoff teams will fire their manager, and those on the edges could be fired midseason for a "spark") so I think Hendrickson and Fraser will get another opportunity (even if it's an interim job). Nancy had his pick of jobs too, and he choose right with Columbus with a supportive front office and ownership with a great fanbase and good talent. Colorado and Chicago... not as desirable. Re-hiring Frank Klopas and Chris Armas does not excite fans.

But is there a barrier issue ? Proud of what ? There is jealousy because of people wants to see of people of color to fail, no matter what. They just want a forced diversity which is not a diversity at all. How many black coach that are very good in any terms. It's not a race card, most people don't care of people's success. Wilfried Nance got luck that he got that mindset. Despite of barriers, be not systemic selected in terms of the best.

Dude right ! I would take Wilfred Nancy over cherrundolo any day, Wilfred has really good tactics and makes the team have good chemistry with each other, that’s something cherrundolo lacks

I remember soccernomics showed statistically black coaches are more successful than white coaches globally when you consider how few are given opportunities globally and what they achieve. Yet despite this statistical fact they are not given opportunities globally.

So why they are not recognized enough ? They were rooting black coaches to fail in any way. They don't want people of color to suceed.

I don´t know what Americans talking about. He is French Afro-Caribbean. Migration started in the 70s after WWII in Europe. He is the child of this first gen. like Zidane, Otto Addo (coach Ghana). Now consider that also only a few native ex-player become coaches - not too mention topic referees. Stop looking at race, start looking at logic. Unlike Europe, Football was never your Top US Sport. So where should these Immigrant kids come from in the US past?You literally watching History in the making.

I feel Europe may be a little wary on Nancy. He is very strict on his philosophy. With pro/rel or playing for an European spot, managers have to be pragmatic which I don't think Nancy wants to do. Unless he manages a team with a similar philosophy, I can see a Wayne Rooney-Birmingham City situation where the fans have turned against him for trying to play a more proactive style (when they were winning with a "less attractive style" before he came). Columbus is a great situation for him; and he can be happy managing the philosophy he wants. Prior manager Caleb Porter would still be in the job if his Crew clubs didn't blow matches at extra time consistently.

After that MLS Cup title, he'll get his money. On top of that, he is the one who picks and chooses who belongs on the team. He won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
