We´ve heard of this 5th old god, he´ve been heralded between the lines. Unfathomable is his power. His name is C'opi ûm.

Awesome recap from Friday, I was jumping in and out of chat due to work on Friday, I didn’t hear your shout out! I really appreciate the call out! It made my day! I would like to bring up a different point that I’ve been sitting on. Blizzard has been promoting “what sword” since blizcon, and it’s really got me thinking. Sargaras could have cleaved the planet… no problem, yet… he didn’t. He left his sword within the planet… why? To kill Azeroth? To poison her? I don’t think so. Sargaras’s sword is a direct depiction of the Warcraft rpg sword named Gorribal, the dark seether. Seether, as defined, essentially means to boil. So what if the sword wasn’t attacking Azeroth directly, but rather trying to boil out the shadow/void/old gods corruption once and for all. The sword is likely dug so down deep that it is tapping the roots of the planet, the same roots that the old gods have intrinsically tied themselves too. It’s the reason they can’t be removed through force. We all suspect that Magni was dooped, as the king of diamonds will be made a pawn. I’ve mentioned the ties to lovecraftian lore for the old gods and how blizzard borrows ideas and lore from other mythos. If they are borrowing lore from lovecraftian, then this 5th old god is inspired off of Cthylla, also known as The Kraken or The Secret One. The other 4 old gods are voiced by male voice actors. The funny thing is, if they take the direct inspiration for Cthylla, this old god could be voiced by a female voice actor…. Which means we could very well have the radiant song and the voices everyone is hearing not being Azeroth herself, but instead this old god. The same old god who spoke to Magni and convinced us to deactivate Sargaras’s sword (Gorribal, the dark seether), to end the cleansing of the void/shadow/and old gods. As for where this old god resides. The official map has yet to be shown on The war within, and I’m willing to bet that there is an area close to those roots, is where this old god is. I also think that there is an under water ocean beneath Kaz’Algar. Think of the fish and its most recent whispers, also, I’ve mentioned the Dreadwake mount. A kraken on the front, and on its back flap, a skull with tenticles… in the same depiction as the mural. Finally, the flavor txt on the mount, "A ship unlike any other, held aloft by a gift from an unknown kraken-faced god of the deeps." The void doesn’t see us as the enemy, but a means to and end. This old god imo, will surface and attempt to drown the surface world, and I think ultimately, we are going to need to find a way to reactivate Sargaras’s sword (Goribal, the dark seether). His parting gift will be our only Salvation.

Think of it this way - Light is iridescent, searing, fierce, fanatic, 'purified' version of void. Void glows with mysterious power, Light shines with purity/precision. "Our long lost brethren" , as Xal calls them, are just the purist-faction of the Void that formed the Light.

Wondering if the 4 Old Gods we currently know of, are the 'shards' of a greater version. Maybe the creature was initially shattered confronting the combined might of the Titan Pantheon, or some other force. And when their current forms are destroyed their essence is drawn back to reconstitute the more powerful gestalt entity.

Priests and Shadow Priests..... I think the line is closer than most would think, and it's been right there in lore since the beginning?

The twilight-hammer like banner combined with the sun-imagery makes me wonder if the Empire of Light may have been the owner of said banner and fought against the Black Empire (siding with the titans aka enemy of all) and that defectors from the Empire of Light took the banner and created the dark/void counterpart to it when they defected to the Black Empire. Less relevantly probably, I'd also point out that the major twilight's hammer vault we found Xal'atath in was also in a zone with the literal scarlet monastery. This idea of Empire soldiers defecting from light to void side of the conflict would also be consistent with other light-to-void elements throughout the lore

I believe that the 4 old gods used to be one whole being until the light showed up and defeated them and purified the giant crystal in Hallowfall, but the old god didn't died it actually split into 4 beings and that is how the titans were able to defeat them and imprison them. The mural is depicting the original form of the old gods, as for the crystal changing from light to dark I think they said that it started recently around the time Sargeras stabbed the planet.

I think it's symbolizes this is the old God whos fate is to corrupt the sunwell or die trying, thus corrupting azeroth through sunwell. The Christal looks very blood elfish to me honestly. And it's glowing purple to show it being corrupted. Notice the tentacle behind the Christal, it's doing like this wrapping/ twisting around it like we see the void doing in the cinematic when showing the world soul. And also notice the other tentacles they seem to be stretching or pointed towards it, the eyes are looking at it, the minions on the left seem to be looking up off to the side at the Christal and not so much the old God. I could be 100% talking out of my ass but that's just an idea I have

what if the end goal is to shift Azeroth's sun into a void sun? what if that is the thing we have been missing this whole time, the sun is a light/void being.

It would be fun if Xal'atath is a servant of this fifth old god but intend to slay and usurp this creature. Extra fun if this evil creature Xal'atath in function ends up saving Azeroth. We talk a lot about void these days, but we should talk about Shadow as well. Shadows is not void and you need light to create shadows. Maybe this is also metaphysically true here that Light create Shadow but Void do not require the Light to exist and as such can be in true opposition of it. Void would be where the Light cannot reach, not a place where it is merely blocked. Void is where there is no Light to create Shadow.

I think the crystal in the mural is Azeroth in her titan prison but depicted in nerubian design.

What if the crystal is a container for something and the void shifting represents it starting to break free

can you imagine if this old god is actually the same old god as the others? Meaning like the greek mythology of Cerberus...N'zoth, Yogg, C'thun, and Y'shaarj are all connected to the same body...but just different heads. it would be very Lovecraftian, imo.

Twilight Hammer banner makes perfect sense. The sun is setting (TWILIGHT) behind the might of the Old Gods (HAMMER) Ergo. Twilight Hammer.

I rly think that Xal'atath is the 5th old God but not as we think... I think the 4 Old Gods did create here as a "Backup" so Xal'atath is basicly the combination out of all 4 Old Gods. So she is THE 5th Old God.

the picture with all the old gods is kind of set up so that n'zoth is at the bottom and was quoted as being the weakest, with y'shaarj being 2nd highest and being quoted as being the strongest. Only the 5th and unknown one is higher than him. It's all extremely deliberate and thought out.

I kinda think whrn the 5 old gods landed, xalatath was with them. In a supervisor role. They fought with eachother. She was going to report back, so they imprisoned her in the blade. And each old God planned to claim azeroth for their own.

In your depiction of azeroth you forgot legion. In it you could see the whole of azeroth from the vindicar, with the exception of the southern part.

I hope this 5th Old God stuff is true, because I have an argument to make about the banners. I'm pretty convinced that the Twilight Hammer's banner is not the one we see in that image, but instead an inspiration of it, meaning the banner we see here predates it to the days of the Black Empire. They clearly have differences: the Twilight Hammer banner has what look to be dragon wings going above the actual hammer part, as if to represent the twilight dragonflight or something. This older banner seemingly focuses more on the sun, or a fiery rendition of light even, as the spikes around the hammer are more defined than that of Twilight's Hammer to suggest as much. The Twilight's Hammer was originally created by Cho'gall and pale orcs. The pale orcs were receiving messages of the void through the energy of the naaru, K'ure. This is according to Chronicle (I think). That is _likely_ where at least some of the inspiration for the Twilight's Hammer Banner originally came from. Add in the elements of Deathwing and the Twilight Dragonflight later, and you get the whole picture. That then begs the question, what is this original banner and what does it represent (other than the obvious Old God Black Empire stuff)? I'm willing to argue that, when it comes to the light and the void, it represents that they are indeed two sides of the same coin. The sun aspect is there, and you can see a moon crescent on the hammer. Couple in the dark lower half of the inner circle and you get a good depiction of literal Shadow. The most puzzling part of it for me is the actual hammer itself. I got nothing for that.

Naaru seems like Titan Ordered void beings (Void Gods?), who were imprisoned into crystal-like form to be artificial transformed into light beings: 1. Because Light and Dark states are normal life-cycle for Naaru, and when in Dark Naaru state if their remained light energy were to be completely removed from them by someone without giving them the time to be naturally restored, they are (re?)turning into Void Gods. 2. We all know now that Titans don't differentiate between "creating" and "ordering". The Prime Naaru were the first Naaru to be forged during the great ORDERING of the cosmos. Velen believed that the Naaru's powers greatly resembled those of the moon goddess Elune, and Archmage Khadgar found in an ancient cosmology tome a passage indicating that the prime Naaru may have been created by Elune during the great ORDERING of Light and Shadow. Velen had stated Light's Heart (Xe'ra's core) could only be unlocked by a Naaru descended from Xe'ra, but Tear of Elune was used to successfully unlock it. They may have some relation with Naaru, Elune & the Titans, because we know Elune communicated & worked with Eonar, so she could do so with others or all Titans at some point in time and helping them in "creating" (Ordering) Naaru with her powers. And Tear of Elune was a part of Titans Pillars of Creation. We know Elune (through Tyrande) created The Sisters' Tear together with the Winter Queen, so this possible may be done with Elune and Eonar or Elune and all the Titans to create Tear of Elune. 3. Also Xal'atath said this in Netherlight Temple: "I know the Naaru consider us horrors to be resisted. We do not share this view. They are merely beloved brethren that lost the true path. They will return to their masters... in time."

There is too much unmoored speculation now as a result of the K'tanth stuff or whatever and I'm all here for it, doesn't matter if it is a new Old God or something else because new Old God stuff is always amazing regardless

Sargeras' sword must have pierced whatever prison was holding this old god which is what he was aiming for and why the crystal started turning back to void periodically due to it's influence. Basically the only thing Sargeras could do before being sealed to assure our destruction

The azeroth we know is a beachhead? Maybe it's both the sun, and dark.... it doesn't look solid, perhaps it depicts an Eclipse?

Seems like the twilight hammer have to be doing a rendition of the black empire and you know what else has a sun Banner scarlet crusade

So, looking at the banner on the picture, the hammer seems to have a similar looking crescent as the nerubian queen has on top of her head in TWW, might be significant, might not be, just noticed that now. 🤔 Awesome vid as allways Acco! 😊

Xal’atath’s words to me strongly suggest that the naaru and what we call old gods both have the same origin. That origin also maybe being what she refers to as “ master”. Also, her saying “us” implies she’s part of the same thing as old gods but maybe they are more complex than just “old gods” and she’s something a bit different. Beyond that, not sure yet.

What if we do know the 5th old god, and some of use its power every day. Shadow. That mural looks to me like the old god is caressing, almost loving a significant source of shadow. I say shadow because in game, even warlock soul shards, without any glyphs, has a pinkish hue on the outside. The Titans might be aware of, but couldnt ever touch the 5th old god because shadow exists everywhere. But, they did seem to limit it because as a force it isnt really represented much. Lot more void than just shadow. And, we've been dealing with fire mixed with shadow this whole expansion...

is it possible the twilight hammer banner was created by the old god who saw the timelines, so he saw a banner he believed was victorious, created it, then the followers many centuries later created it, or did i just paradox myself, if they are victorious in Midnight, its interesting placement on the sword. my thought was similar to yours about the old god being outside of current realm, but i actually thought it was in space in the void with azeroth being under a veil it couldnt find its way back because from what i can tell, them things are walking into that old god an being transformed by void magic lol

On that fith old god, i think his eyes alone tell a story. The more eyes he had, the more "light" he could absorb. He was probably way more powerful that the other old gods because of his connection to Beledar and maybe he forced the other old gods to provide him with minions for scrificial rituals. Eventually the other 4 old gods might've turned on him, like the Chaos gods do that we know from WH40k. When i talk about his eyes, i'm not only talking numbers, but also their shape. There seems some "ordering" going on cause those ain't naturally shaped eyes.

Is it really clear that people are walking INTO the mouth-thingy in the mural? To me it seems like they're not looking straight towards the entrance, not directly walking into its direction. Maybe they're walking OUT of it instead. Is it creating them? Is it creating life, while being powered by the crystal that seemingly contains light AND void (in an oscillating way), though radiating light in the mural? (Or maybe the Old God is just doing job interviews, without actually eating/producing its job candidates. Imagine the questions an Old God could ask during a job interview.)

There are tons of Old Gods....per older lore "An unknown number of Old Gods were hurled into the Great Dark Beyond by the Void lords,[7] and other Old Gods are active in the worlds beyond Azeroth" Read that as unlimited opportunity for massive scale Old Gods lore and battles etc.

Thought just occurred to me, if Xala was imprisoned by the Old Gods, and she is the Void's Herald/Harbinger, did the Old Gods rebel against the Void Lords for their own ends?

I don't know the history behind how each old god was identified, i find Yogg and Nzoth the easiest to identify, the other three not so much - and if there are clear identifying markings that i am missing for both Yshaarj and Cthun please correct me-, I was thinking.. what if the Old gods we know of are the ones on the sides, and the unknown old god, is the one in the middle ( in place of Cthun marked in the picture ), i was also thinking that there was a sword like appearance to the tower that the old god in the middle was attached to, and it's looking like that the 5th old god may have been the deepest and most worrisome, would make sense that Sargeras is targetting Him in particular with the sword no?

Sea of Storms is to the south. This isn't a secret. Saying that the ingame map doesn't say sea of storms when you swim off the coast of pandaria doesn't mean anything tbh

I could've sworn that there was some talk from Blizzard that said we're done with Old Gods as big baddies so I can't help but feel like either the 5th is not an enemy or we're not going to have it as anything really of consequence in game. I could be remembering wrong. I personally would love finally getting to play a character that can be pure void with this old god maybe being friends with us because it doesn't want the void lords messing with its domain.

On the bit where you talk about Naruu that can be void and light and the close relationship. What if Old Gods are the Original light gods, but the Naruu overthrew them and they were banished, and became void versions of themselves. Maybe Old isnt referring to the age of them, but instead meaning old as in past or previous Gods. and its their want for revenge or vengance that turns them voids. If Void lords are called void lords, they are lords of the void, why dont old gods have void mentioned in their names, maybe becausethey arent JUST void,

Crystal in mural most likel is not Beledar, idk how people connect the one in hallowfall sticking from "sky" and one in mural, just because Beledar switches from void and light lol. There are much more crytals in Azj-kahet especially one in middle of nerubian kingdom connecting all other, it resembles so much crystal in mural, with golden holder and "cage" around it. But idk people will still say its crystal from hallowfall😂

So where are we on the state of Old Gods in the greater universe? I thought back in the day the Void Lords threw out many old gods to different worlds too, but now I keep getting the impression these ones are the only ones and we’ve killed them all now. Please correct me if I’m wrong though, I loved the Old God lore and spook factor as a faction

What about void beings being "corrupted" by light and can it just go in a cycle like that if azeroth is kept in a "purgatory" state and go back and forth ebb and flow and is that just as natural as the universe itself tends to do

So, what if…. G’Huun was a successful experiment in giving knowledge. What if the Old God on the other side is a light Old God created by the titans. And the reason they had to rip Yasharash out was because he was larger and was going to kill it. And the light old god has had time to grow and influence Azeroth undisputed.

To me that banner is just a symbol related to the old gods that was passed down to the twilight hammer cultists. The symbol is then as old as the time of the black empire, and was always a thing among some old gods followers. You can see that along with c'thun, they represented the an'quiraj city (the scarab makes it evident) and alog with the other old gods there are hints of places they where found (water for n'zoth, icy peaks for yogg, and a ??serpent?? for y'sh), wich is all the more strange because there is a pile of corpses where the unknown old god stands (would it be lordaeron or tirisfal glades??)... Also, old gods can see the future, so they knew about the hour of the twilight as long as they have been around.

Something tells me, Azeroth herself is some type of an Old God.

I don't think void(void lords) and shadow(old gods) are natural allies. Their alliance was forced becaues the old gods were thrown out of their natural habitat/realm. They're nightmares manifest and don't belong to reality. but into the realm of dreams.

what if all 5 old gods before the titans arrived because of the thousand truths of the void they made preparations for each truth and say they planted themselves in locations that would activate depending on the truth playing out and say what if there deaths. cthuun. yogsaron. yajsharaj . nzoth . each "death" would give the current living old god enough power to birth its awakening and xalatath the harbringer awakens it beyond
