Yeah, but if you shift to L, it basically gives the car more power, but you can’t use it all the time. If you over dose it, you will blow up the engine.
It's something usually trucks have, and some cars that can tow more weight than the average car. But it's not adviced to use it "to save fuel", it's meant if you're pulling something heavy and you need the torque to get off your place.
@@Arutemysu you can go directly into first gear. Alot of manual cars in the 80s and 90s just relabled the 1st gear of a trans as 'low gear' while still used it in other cars, same trans as 1st. Low gear itself isn't normally its own dedicated gear but just 1st or 2
@@anonymoussynchronous 2005 Kia Spectra 5 4 speed auto and the gear shifter allows me to essentially go through the gears like an auto manual L is 1, 2 is 2, 3 is 3, D is 4
Yes, it makes sense to us, but this video guy is confused with L and D. P means Power, R is Rev, and N is Now. If you are fast enough shuffling between all of them it makes life sweeter.
L really won’t help you in snowy or icy conditions because it’s not a problem of lack of power or torque it’s a problem of lack of traction so in other words don’t drive on ice and drive slow in snow
Do ppl really not know these things. Can I ask what age group is your target group ? I have see a couple of things by you which show things from a new angle for me. Also I know in parts of Asia these tips would help many ( I live in SE Asia nowadays) drivers are pretty awful with parking n fundamentals
Your car will only go to lower gear as speed slows down . The transmission will not down shift simply by putting it in low. The automatic transmission will adjust itself on it's own as speed matches transmission settings.
