Yvonne you go GIRL...Countdown 300 subscribers is all it will take to reach your goal! Chris you need a channel of your own "The Fixer" I would watch and subscribe! You can fix anything and everything!! You did a remarkable job on the little cabinet and Yvonne great finish, I love it. The flower picture is beautiful, great color choice on frame. Now that's a boat load of keys! Hey I subscribed to Alex and Becca's channel and look forward to watching them progress. I'm sure you will be a great mentor to them. As always TFS

The embroidery is known as Crewel Embroidery. The new frame looks perfect with it but if I might make a suggestion, ( since I have done a lot of crewel work over the years.) I would recommend a thin quilt batting underneath the embroidered piece. You can use spray adhesive to attach the batting to oval cardboard backing then put the embroidered fabric over it just as you did. Sometimes I’d even use a thicker batting under my embroidery and skip the glass.

The floral picture is either crewel work or embroidery. I can’t tell from afar. I do crewel work from vintage kits. Some old kits can have wool yarn, but anything from the 1970’s has acrylic yarn. It was good to wash it by hand. I love this project. ❤

My great grandma did needle point and crocheting. She made herself and others ladies handkerchiefs that she did needle point and crocheting on. I was fortunate to get several of them. They are absolutely gorgeous. I also have a blanket she made for me when I was a very young child (from the early 60's). It was made from old flannel pajamas. I now have it stored away. My grandmother also made blankets. These were done with needle point as 10x10 squares and material sewn between all the squares with a back. Gorgeous! Also have a couple of these stored. I am blessed to have these items.

I don't know if someone has already said this but the reason Miss Lillian puts her labels upside down is because with the all in one paints the chalk-like ingredient settles to the bottom and you have to stir the crap out of it. I use Heirloom Traditions all-in-one paint and they suggest that you store it upsidedown for that reason.

All your projects are beautiful! It makes me giggle when you say, "wax on, wax off." I would say something like that too. I love it that you rescued the beautiful hand done crewel needlework from 1978. Melange originated from the same word in French. It means a mixture of things. It's pronounced may-lawnjuh (approximately). Chris, you should get a medal for cleaning up those keys! Hope you make a bundle reselling those beautiful pieces of history, and saving them from the dump!

You both did a great job saving the spool cabinet; now it can be loved again! My mom did beautiful crewel embroidery, something I never could master. She made me a lovely intricate floral pillow in 1976; I use it in my Fall decor and my dghtr has already claimed it to be passed onto her.😍 Yvonne, your piece looks 1000% better in the plain frame & the perfect paint color choice. Professional needle workers recommend batting instead of glass on all types of framed needlework. WOW Chris, amazing improvement on the antique keys! Enjoyed your makeovers! Any of your boxes that have locks with no key take it to your local locksmith. You will be amazed at how quickly they will have a key designed and made for your box. My husband and I used to do that all the time and it never cost more than a few pennies. I think the most we ever paid for one was like $1.75 of course this was a few years ago! Lol But most buyers, will pay a premium for a box with a lock and the key.

I’m still on the fence about that sweet cabinet with drawers. I think I would have first tried the Howard’s finishing on the whole piece n then see how it looked. I don’t mind seeing to different types of wood n the two tone of it. If it still didn’t look right then do the painting. Chris did a real nice job in repairing it. As for that beautiful piece of Crewel Embroidery it looks perfect in the round frame. It did clean up nicely. Painting the frame that color brought the whole piece together. Very nice. I can’t believe the keys. Oh my gosh they were covered in rust. Chris did an awesome job in cleaning up a lot of them. The whole beauty about the keys is that each one was different n had such awesome shapes n details. I think that’s why so many people like having them hanging around, I know that’s why I have them. They have so much character. ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍🌟🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛
