@@Agent-57you sure? Because I’ve looked through the chapter and after there’s Endeavor’s shocked expression there’s no other dialogue outside of Hawks reaction.
I think the reason he didn't cauterized his wound is primarily bc his quirk also gives him fire resistance, so for him to actually burn his own body and seal his wound, he would have to make his own flames even hotter than Prominence Burn (his strongest attack). Not only is that unattainable for him, but he would need, at the very least be in perfect condition for him to have a chance to create that much power.
Seeing Hawks and Jiro get busy made me so hype, but then that hypeness died when I saw them get hurt. All For One has to get up out of here quick fast.
Endeavor is just by far and away the best written character in this story, and the Todoroki subplot is the most intriguing one imo. Rise again, hero, there's still work to do!
Well, sort of. The Todoroki subplot is amazing, and while Enji is written very realistically, he also has like, the worst arc in the plot line. Never understood the hype around him beyond the cool fights.
@@user-gw3bs2in5i I can't really agree with that. I think Enji has by far and away the best character arc in the subplot, and things concerning him staying somewhat realistic elevates that. I think compared to him the character arcs of the other major participants of the Todoroki subplot (Shoto and Touya) fall a bit short. Touya is supposed to be somewhat flat in terms of being unchanging, but Shoto was a bit disappointing, which also had to do with him taking a backseat in a storyline that started with him as the main protagonist. Funnily enough, I think the minor characters (Rei, Fuyumi, Natsuo) really add something to the subplot and their contributions play a big part in making the subplot more fleshed out and more realistic. Anyways, these are my thoughts.
@@mrcx6142 I would say Shoto and Toya have better writing on account of having good payoff to their setups. While Enji is realistic, the realism really shoots his arc in the foot on account of how horribly he’s handled during the final war. Enji’s setup was great, but unfortunately, I think his payoff might be one of the worst things about My Hero. The reasoning has to do with the manga and next episode, so I won’t explain why in case you haven’t read the manga. Tbh, while Natsuo, Fuyumi, and Rei have way less screentime, they’re honestly written way better as characters compared to Enji ngl. Those are my thoughts though. I understand it’s a hot take.
@@user-gw3bs2in5i Definitely a hot take. I'm also not entirely sure what you mean by payoff. I have read the manga and I have an idea about next episode, and while that part was perhaps not necessary for either Endeavor or the Todoroki subplot, I don't think it does either of them harm. The people I've seen struggle the most with this part were those who were struggling with Endeavor's development to better himself as a person (even if his focus is atonement) because they felt it wasn't right for a former abuser to have that kind of change, which in turn made people like/support him. Personally, I like that development a lot because while an abuser bettering himself to this degree is very uncommon, the realism in the rest of the subplot makes the entire story a more intriguing one than flat out having an abuser stay an abuser and only the other characters developing to the point of overcoming their experiences in their own ways.
@@mrcx6142 The whole abuser thing never bothered me. I always assumed there was more to him and was 100% open to him having an arc where he betters himself. My issue is more so that the way he atones is handled badly on the story’s part. Mainly that he doesn’t do nearly enough to justify the change that the arc is going for and it becomes telling over showing, which kind of goes against his character’s purpose. I could go into more detail if you’d like, but I do think that the next episode’s events do harm his character a lot since the position he’s in basically makes it so he has no time for anything unnecessary.
You know, I'd never thought about why they didn't have a massive plan for AFO like they did with Shigi. The key detail is that the coffin in the sky was created specifically to counteract decay, which only Shigi has. They couldn't allow him to fight on the ground cause he could literally destroy the ground and everything touching it.
There really is no reason why they didn't dump both Shiggy and Afo in the Ua coffin. I mean is Afo himself with no quirks also as strong as a High Nomu? Anyways, hold that thought. Cause the lack of planing against Afo is only gonna get goofier from now on
@@smhfirebruh5630 nah, there's plenty of reason why they couldn't put in in the coffin. Remember that briefing All Might held several episodes ago? He said the most important thing they needed to do was to keep them as far apart as possible so that they couldn't coordinate. Putting them in the same arena together would be the complete opposite of that.
@midoriya-shonen putting aside the Unlimited Finger thing Shiggy is doing. Exactly how well would their cooperation matter when both of them are under the effects of Erasure. (I want to go more into this but I'm not sure if you are caught up in the Manga)
@@smhfirebruh5630 I remember the main thing the heroes were worried about was their telepathic abilities, especially since they don't know the extend of them. That telepathy isn't necessarily connected to quirks (though they could play a part in it) since they literally share a consciousness. So regardless of erasure that telepathy would still be a concern to the heroes.
*”Extras” is a good name for this episode. We’re really seeing everyone doing their part to fight for their own cause. Todoroki, Toya, Ashido, Spinner, Shoji, Endeavor, Hawks, Jiro, Tokoyami, and others. There’s a lot of moving pieces and ideologies. Also the sludge villain is back. Oddly nice to see him again-*
It’s the classic case of heroes and villains not being so different. Everyone, every individual person, is doing their part and fighting for what they believe in. Freedom for heteromorphs, a father’s horrible sins, and whatever All for One is up to. Everyone is willing to put their own bodies on the line for a cause greater than themselves. It’s oddly beautiful...
We need a Sam close up cam every time she says she has goosebumps just to see if she legit does 🧐 Hahaha jk 😂 Also, they didn’t portray it well in the anime but Midnight was killed by the guy who was talking about her this episode, with that mask. Not by Gigantomachia. Just thought I would clarify. But get ready ladies, the season just gets crazier from here. Sam better have her tissues ready for episodes to come 😬
We see a good chunk of the battlefields and their reactions to Shoto winning against Dabi. I personally love Bakugo's little smile and him being happy Shoto won. Back when the series first started, Bakugo also considered Shoto to be his rival. And he denied when the other implied they were friends. But he was also there to comfort him when he was feeling down about Touya. And he was happy for him now. Bakugo can say they aren't friends all he wants. His actions tell a different story. So yeah. Shoto won. Although there is something unsettling about the purple glow that formed at the center of Touya's chest. Oh well. We know Touya didn't accept any extra quirks from AFO. He didn't accept AFO's help as a kid and he isn't accepting it now either. But the same can't be said for Spinner. Spinner, who wants to help Shigaraki. Spinner, who just wants his friend back. Spinner, who thinks he can't do anything. To rush to his side, Spinner will do anything. Even take extra quirks from a guy he clearly doesn't trust. All for Shigaraki. Spinner's job is to free Kurogiri. A very important job. Monoma was able to scatter the villains due to Kurogiri's warp quirk. But all of the heroes' hard work could be undone in an instant if Kurogiri warps the villains back together or separates the heroes. If Machia is freed, that would be a disaster. But if Kurogiri awakens and it's NOT Shirakumo, the heroes are going to be in for a really rough time. It's all riding on Spinner. Moving on to AFO, we see that he still likes pushing people's buttons. He sees that Endeavor's heart isn't in the fight because he's worrying about Shoto and Touya. So AFO gets Endeavor engaged enough to leave an opening. Jiro and Tokoyami stepped in but were both injured. They have to prevent the Demon Lord from reaching Shigaraki. But he's willing to cut down anyone who stands in his way. Side note: I love that the sludge villain all the way back from S1 is back
Touya’s not done just yet. He’s got a lot of Endeavor’s stubbornness. And speaking of which, All for One is REALLY good at getting under peoples' skin. In a way, what he's saying to Endeavor is kinda right too. While Shoto wanted to be the one to confront Touya, he was ultimately Endeavor’s responsibility more than anyone else's. It’s even something Endeavor realizes. But still, it’s just All for One being insincere despite the truths of what he’s saying. Just a plan to get into Endeavor’s head so he can beat him.
I really love this take (and not just because I'm a huge Toya/Dabi fan)! I love how what AFO says is technically true but completely insincere and it rightfully gets under Endeavor's skin. I'm not rooting for AFO, but it's nice to see abusers face any sort of consequence even if it's just feeling guilty and responsible since usually there are no consequences to that stuff in animanga like MHA

I am glad that AFO actually gets them in the end. It would be such a Aura loss for the main villain to get s**t talked and damaged by fodder characters. Imagine Sukuna getting beat up by Nobara or Miwa, yeah massive L there. At least Shigaraki doesn't get that treatment. Bro is nerfed, placed in fortress made to kill him and up against a STACKED AF team. Bakugo, Mirko, Jeanist with carbon fiber cables, 2 of the big 3 of UA. And he is still dominating. That's how you make a villain look scary. But don't worry, we have much more to see.
i have a question/theory: shouldn’t they also be trying to cut off afo’s arms as well as his mask? cause isn’t that basically the output of his power? and didn’t they say a few eps ago that afo doesn’t have a regeneration quirk? so if they slice his arms or something, it cuts off access for his power - thus making it easier to go for afo’s mask?

The reason AFO can still "see" is cause he has a thermo-sensory quirk that allows him to know where everything is based on heat signatures! It's not vision technically, but it functions like it is! They cut that detail out of season 3

She meant it's a sad thing that Shoto has to fight his brother. It's not like the usual cheering on a hero vs a villain, even though Dabi is a villain, it's tragic that Shoto has to be the one to fight him.
