Junk Journaling is putting together papers, scraps, or whatever you find into a bound book - which is how I'm creating a prayer journal. In this video I'm making a bound book using paper saved from my children's childhood drawings, coloring pages, homework assignments and other scraps. It's held together with elastic (rubber bands will do the job too) and I can add or remove pages when I want.

I love that you are calling it a prayer journal. Your daughter is right it’s not junk. I create Bible study “junk journal” series on Bible journaling and Jesus. Right now I am celebrating The Birth of Jesus. #Jesusinjuly24. I am always looking to see how others incorporate their faith. It was a revelation to me when I realized God cares about our desires and puts desires in our hearts. When I understood this I started taking my desires and especially my love for art more seriously. I pray you will find encouragement in this area. - psalm 37:4 says delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Beautiful!! It's been over four decades for me, and I feel just as you do about His word and about prayer. I love what you said about glorifying Him, too, and although I pray that I glorify Him in all things and realize the IMPORTANCE of glorifying Him, I never realized what you said about how it glorifies Him to answer our prayers!! I can relate to your struggle with prayer. I love the idea of a prayer journal. A regular junk journal makes no sense tome. A waste of time. But using it as a prayer journal makes perfect sense. Now all I need to do is find stuff to make the signatures since I don’t have any books or magazines. It will work out. Thank you for this video.

You can use any paper you already have, like copy paper or notebook paper, or old notes etc. the nice thing about this kind of journal is that you can use scraps or things that relate to what you want to be praying about. Glad you’re finding the idea useful:)

What an absolutely amazing idea‼️ I love the idea of this prayer journal SO very much‼️ I have been wanting to start a journal n write my prayers down, improve the quality of them and really meditate about what I want to say in my prayers to our beloved Heavenly Father n this is SO far beyond what I imagined n had in mind!!! My desire is to reflect on all the many blessings that have been poured out in my behalf n to be able to read over n reflect on how God is always there n see the proof especially in rough seasons as it helps strengthen us and our faith. In fact, you n your video have inspired me to create one (or several) of my own! I want to thank you deeply from my heart❣️ Communication and conversations with God are SO absolutely very important‼️ And deserve our taking the time to write about it, live in it n with it, decorate it n celebrate it. This is beautiful! Are you using elastic or jewelry wire?

Yes - it’s a stretchy jewelry wire/elastic. Regular thin elastic would be better as it won’t cut into the thinner paper- I just used what I could find at home at the time:)
