Not Like The Punch ICE At All! | Tata Punch.EV FAQ #5 

Is the Tata Punch EV expensive when compared to the Punch petrol - the answer is yes and no. Three things to keep in mind.
First, the lower variant of the Punch EV is isn't great value. The difference between the most affordable Punch petrol and the EV is about 5 lakh rupees! That's almost double - 6 lakhs versus 11! Deep breath. Keep in mind that the EV packs six airbags instead of two, it gets ESP and ISOFIX child seat mounts too. It also gets an automatic transmission. It also gets led headlamps. This reduces the gap in value - but not by enough.
Second - the top spec variants - the difference in the top spec Punch petrol and EV is also about ₹5 Lakhs. But this feels VFM - as it additionally packs ventilated seats, projector headlamps, a 10.25” touchscreen and a 10.25’ digital driver’s instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger and wireless smartphone connectivity. And let us not forget it has more power and a bigger battery pack too compared to the entry Punch EV.
Third - in the way it drives - the Punch EV is superior - it has more performance and because of the new chassis and suspension it feels very SUV. And yes - electric power is also more conomical. Finally whether the Punch Ev is expensive or not - depends on whetehr you want an EV or need an EV to clock hundreds of kilometres a day.
