I'd say it's fine, I do it occasionally, but I don't just blindly drive through. Where I don't see stopped vehicles, I go very slow to peek over to see if anyone is coming. If safe to proceed, proceed. It's not rocket science people. It's driving.

A rule that just might save someone's life: If you see brake lights, slow down. It isn't always apparent why they're braking, but don't assume the reason is "because they're idiots, therefore I should ignore it."

0:32 #2 While the truck was definitely in the wrong for the hit and run, you were also in the wrong for traveling in the turn-only lane. That's illegal, the red truck turned into the turning lane for the light properly and never expected someone to be driving illegally down the center turn-only lane. In the future hopefully you'll use the lanes properly and avoid triggering unstable drivers.

Correct, even though I've been guilty of using that lane too, the correct way is to wait until the yellow line clears to allow you to be in the turn lane (white lines). Truck driver took that too far though.

@@beerdedwanderer on a left hand turn you can't, you have to wait until you can enter the white painted portion. You can only travel inside the yellow when you are turning into a business. that rule does not apply at an intersection. That's why the white paint differentiates the two different areas, rules are different for both.

Not his fault for the accident since the cam driver was stopped. Though not a legal move to get into the turn lane early, the truck failed to do a shoulder check knowing that MOST would do that and would still take partial fault for it. This is like 80/20 fault

I weirdly agree; it has also taught me to spot situations that I don't think I would have been aware of before. For example I remember seeing a clip of two kitted out Civic hatchbacks continuously slowing down in the middle of traffic and then racing one another. Not long after, the exact same situation with the exact same cars happened in front of me, and I immediately recognized what was happening and kept a safe distance.

@@freeflymonkey They meant that cammer crossed the solid yellow line before the left turn lane started. The truck entered the turn lane for the traffic light as soon as it started. Cammer entered the center lane which is for turning into the parking lot before the traffic light. He would not have needed to cross the double yellow lines to avoid the truck if he had been following the traffic lines.

There was a female in flordia who was hit by a guy. She chased him while on the phone with 911.. they told her over and over to stop chasing him but she wouldn't she ended up ramming him and he crossed into the oncoming lanes and hit someone one else. The other person died so they charged her with their death

@@carlbruschnigjr1757 That makes no sense. No one would ever be able to use a center turn lane if you can't cross a solid yellow. Drivers are allowed to cross that line to use the center turn lane. A lot of people think the cammer used the lane inappropriately but I couldn't find anything confirming one way or another.

#15: This is a good example of an incident where people almost always pick the wrong person for being "at-fault". In this case, the guy turning LEFT is the one who has right-of-way, for 2 different reasons: 1) He has a green turn signal, and 2) He was already IN the intersection before the right turner comes along. Also, the right turner DID NOT STOP. The axiom of "right turn has priority of left turn" is a general default rule of driving, which does not apply once higher rules (like traffic lights, and "the intersection rule") supersede them.

A solid yellow line means it’s a no passing zone. The cammer screwed up by trying to pass the truck in a no passing zone. Crossing a solid yellow line is legal, otherwise how could you get into the common turn lane to turn into a business? It is actually illegal to cross a solid white line.

I am not sure about the US laws, but here in my country the firefighters and all other blue disco cars when then come to a crossroad and want to run red light while under blue disco, they can, but they still must make sure it is safe, ie. there is no incoming traffic, and if there is, they must yield. Blue disco doesn't give them unconditional right of way, it only lets them break certain sections of rules and regulations without punishment, like red lights, one-way roads, no-entry roads, speed limits, no overtaking and so on. But still they must respect the rule of safety and cannot put other drivers into danger. It seems that the firetruck at the very beginning of the video is actually slowing down to a halt to do just that. So if the driver with the camera flew through the crossroad, most probably he'd be just fine.

No 4. That diving across multiple lanes means that the idiot diving cannot use their mirrors. They need to be scanning back over their right shoulder to see what might be coming. I was almost in an accident riding with a friend when he made exactly that stupid maneuver. He and another driver almost collided. After an irate horn salute he kept saying, "I didn't see them. They came out of nowhere!" He had checked his mirror prior to stupidity move. But the mirrors don't give you a wide enough angle, and if they do, there's a reason that little message is on the passenger side mirrors, "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear."

1) it’s illegal to block an intersection the cammer and the other car stopped exactly as supposed to because their vehicles cannot clear the intersection. If emergency vehicles had to cross they would be blocking. It’s illegal. Next. If it is three lanes the other car had clearance to go across they are in the clear. Here you are being all reasonable and logical when nearly every other comment tries to pin the blame on: 1) The cammer and the Tesla driver for not blocking the intersection (illegal) or 2) The Volt driver for driving straight in a turn lane or on the shoulder (it was in a travel lane) or 3) The Volt driver for driving too fast (it was not) That is how it is a question. # 2 - 0:29 the camera guy doesn't have permission to begin his left hand turn yet. He does have permission to turn into a driveway or an establishment but not to make a left hand turn. 0:34 the red truck does has permission to turn into the turning lane. It's drivers like the camera guy that tick everybody else off because he thinks he's better than everybody else, a "I can do whatever I want" mentality. If you don't know the traffic laws then pick up drivers hand book and start reading it. It could save your life or at the very least save you from a severe beating from a road rager.

The driver in #12 should never be allowed behind the wheel again. Poor judgment all around. Turned in front of another motorist, initiating the accident. Failed to engage the brake after contact, thus causing a third vehicle to become involved. Finally, exiting her vehicle without engaging the emergency brake, allowing her car to move off uncontrolled, which we didn't get to see the conclusion of, but I'm sure it was more destruction off-camera.

First clip is simple. Until the car in front of you in the same lane completes their turn and vacates your lane......That lane is still occupied; If they stopped, you're stopping too. Plus, the time to switch lanes was before the dotted line became solid. After that point, your only move was to stop. Wasting time continuing your speed and preparing to go around should never have crossed your mind.

Most of these collisions appear to be caused by cell phone usage and other distractions. A few of them are caused by pure arrogance on the part of one or more drivers who feel that they own the road because they drive a large pickup or SUV. Still more are caused by a lack of appropriate skill. We must all double down and treat driving as a potentially dangerous activity and start taking driving more seriously.
