South Africa used to have great thinkers and fighters during apartheid and COSATU was one of those. What I like about the EFF is that it has taken all these great policies, and manifestos, incorporated them in the 7 pillars. SACP, COSATU, FREEDOM CHARTER, PAC, BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS etc. All included.
Prince Mashele makes a great point - when the Afrikaners came to power their people were poorer than many blacks but a government that cared about poverty helped them out of poverty through starting SOE's & supporting afrikaner business. Black leaders are more interested in getting rich than helping us in the townships
@@senzomemela1311 wow what a sad statement :( it is true that afrikaners are very community oriented and very religious (therefore conservative with spending or give money to NGOs). but i'm sure there are many black people who do the same for their communities? its just sad these people aren't running the ANC
So blck leaders should introduce its on Colonialism and Aphartheid?? White people got rich through Land disposation, economic exclusion of Africans, slavery and aphartheid!! Stop spreading propaganda of eskom or transnet those represent jobs not wealth (wealth is Land and excess to means of prodction)
But from many discussions there is the idea whites were well-off!!! Some of the black people I work with for many years did not know that poverty of most whites....somewhere we are romatisizing sometging!!! BUT I KNOW WHAT HE SPEAK OF!! Today I as an Africaner are the hope of black people....as I was raised...HUMANTARIAN!!!! NOT about RACE....CHARACTER cannot fail you!!!
@@lm_b5080 unfortunately this lack of identity and self respect comes from the so called black leaders of this European system of democracy. It is for the above reason that the people of the Zulu nation have never recognised this ANC government, as their true leaders. Our self identity and self love and love for our families will not allow us to do so...The nations of South Africa are not stupid...
Baba Vavi ukhuluma qiniso lodwa let's hope and pray for. EFF Bangayiqambeli amanga because EFF Deserve to win this Elections EFF imele qiniso President of the EFF HE MUST RULE this country EFF is the future.
Big problem is Mr. VAVI the workers have remained workers and have not learned to be Mangers. The ANC needs to 'Manage' this country. Learn to Manage cos South Africa is a Corporation and you need to have a CEO and Good mangers to control the workers to produce a good fair and safe society
Never there was no voting, he let farmers toy with black workers and did nothing. The platinum mines during mangope did nothing for black communities, most rural areas in the NW were electrified by ANC. I have to say the anc has let the guard down terribly yes.
When I first heard of trade unionism the 1970s the first word Zwelinzima Vavi. I swear I saw his activities throughout that period and beyond doing his best to fight for the rights of workers throughout South Africa. I subsequently joined the LEGAL RESOURCES CENTRE in Cape Town where I used to live. I worked with many anti-apartheid lawyers some of which are no more like Abdullah Omar.
Interest rates are considered high at 2% in the first world yet we pay minimum 11.5%. They forget they still make a profit even if there is no interest since u are already paying so much for the car or house u bought .
It is high for a reason. Junk status has consequences. Higher borrowing costs for the country, means higher interest rates for everyone else. Botswana that is 5 credit rating notches above us has a 4% lower interest rate because they are considered far less risky to lend to.
Nice one. Mr. Vavi took us down memory lane of milestone key events that are forgotten. Big ups Mr. Vavi. Done it with sense of humor too 😂 I remember what issues they will remind him of 😂😂😂😂😂
I am highly respected this man.mr vavi if God can provide us with you as our president we can be out of this mess as a country. My mother died in thella mogoroana hospitaal vosloorus in front of myself and my siblings.due to under staffed no doctors. I will not forget mr vavi and Lawrence dube at kaya fm.while he was still employed by Mercedes Benz.that interview it was my first time heard about this man.tĥis man knows he's Storey.
In hindsight, we are all clever. When he was inside the tent, he supported the mess the country is in today. The mess is entrenched, the future of our children is on shaky grounds.
We therefore thanks him for the entire spiritual and physical effort that he did in the future of the most unnoticed other black workers of South Africans
He could've joined Government a long time ago. But The Man is for the workers, a Unionist of note. Had he joined Government then all Unions would've been undermined. Labour Brokers would still be in Practice Today. After working as a temporary worker for almost 6years. It was the directive and the fight of uBaba Vavi that the Labour Brokers be abolished. Even Banks were using Labour Brokers then. Today we are Permanent workers.Siyabulela Tata
Trouble with Zweli is that he never had much to say about where the money comes from. The entrepreneurs who make it. The risk takers and brilliant businessmen who build economies. These are his enemies and without them Zweli and his unions would have nothing.
Politions they been speaking louder about everything but they leave young people out and they don't speak about farmers and there only things we had it's about Jobs load shedding foreigners and boaders and we see ANC paying people to campaign for them and when we listen the Eff said more than other politicians particularly those they are working with the DA and being founded
It really means nothing to be the founder or unionist if you cannot maintain good in what you initiate. Today what satu is doing is embarrasing in schools.
Vavi keeps on advising people about how politicians dress and look as if it''s the only criteria to judge a political parties. What about track record of political partiies,, what have they done and achieved. We don't like untidy and poor looking people to represent us.
As fallable as Vavi has been He has always tried to be moral about his actions and always tried to think of the guy on the street I wish some politicians had this character in going about their business for me you are one of my heros a person to look up to and one who has tried to stand your ground wherever you were. From were I sit I am not an eff supporter but at this point in the political discourse they have uttered a manifesto that if utilized has the potential to change current discourse try something different afterwards not sure if they will implement as advertised.
It still confuses me why the ANC joined up with Communists or Socialists or COSATU who are more to the EFF side, even the PAC on its original Pan Africanism political strategy!!!???.
Personally, I'm not against or instigating for the destruction of the ANC. The ANC just need the EFF to watch and put pressure on them to do right by hiring and paying a lot SPIES to watch and report any thief or culprit of corruption!!! The ANC has got a long experience in government, EFF, our youths can learn to rule and probably take over by joining with it coalition and alway put pressure for services delivery and truth!!!
Beautiful conversation, but Mr. Vavi should avoid using Apartheid-era South Africa as a yard stick for democratic progress. Apartheid was a crime against humanity, and referencing it this way it's tantamount to legitimizing that horrible system. It's akin to comparing modern American democracy to the era of slavery.
It’s difficult to leave it out cause the repercussions of apartheid are still felt to date. And Americans never forget to mention slavery, as white as their country is but SAns are supposed to have amnesia of the brutality of that regime
When you're taking sides, you should look at all sides. Firstly, you are saying Malema,Zuma, and Ramaphosa. Truth is there's absolutely nothing Steenhuisen has to offer!
