This Ford Transit Van got smashed in the side panel and there was no fixing this panel. It required a new side which is a HUGE, flat panel that wasn't fun to replace. Tune in to see how I cut the side of the van apart and replace the side!

Nice job. I believe all of the manufactures just use glue to attach the panels to the internal skeleton, other wise it would be much harder to remove it! They could revet or weld them together, I think they avoid doing that too keep the panels more intact and easy to paint!! my personal opinion, it is nice to hear some expert's opinion.

Thx I'm doing one that's a refer, it's full of foam ... talk about a frigging blast, can't get in anywhere behind the panel let alone unplug the wires... still trying to figure out attack plan...good job

What brand of belt sander and straight cut off tool would you recommend?

pretty sure thats a 3M Beltsander they're like $200 but you can get a cheaper one for sure if you only have one or two jobs to do. think thats also a matco extended cutoff wheel they're about the same price $250 .. and you can get cheaper ones if you're not using it every day... one thing.. when you look for belt sanders make sure you get one that takes a 18inch belt not a 13inch belt because then you have access to better sandpaper in the 18" size and also the paper will last longer between changes because its longer.. I am actually looking for a belt sander but i don't have any recommendations .. 3M is a good tool though if you need to use it a lot.

@@zippythechicken perfect thank you! Yes I’ll be using it a lot, I’m an apprentice needing to add to my tool arsenal. I’m debating between the 3M and the Astro belt sander.

Whenever i hear someone say "fun" in regards to these things, i sympathize. It's never 'fun'. :)) That said, excellent work. For our stuff, we don't do panel work all that much, our fleet isn't that banged up, but i'd hire you without a second thought if you were in Europe.
