I’ve been watching you for over a decade, your contribution to the firearms community is nothing short of incredible. Thank you for your hard work and dedication
My father passed away recently. Among the things he left me was his go-to pistol, a gen 3 Glock 19. Gen 2 Glocks were the first auto loader pistols I learned how to shoot. When my father’s police department issued him a gen 3 Glock, we thought the finger groove grip was such an improvement over the blocky gen 2 grip. I’ll sure miss going to the range with Dad.
when things go bump in the night I have a lot of options, but a lot of the time I reach for my daily carry, a G23 gen3(180 HSTs) out of muscle memory and dont feel like its the wrong option. Some things just work. I miss his weekly videos and The golden age of gun and ammo reviews and test; Tnoutdoors9, Shootingthebull410, ScubaOZ, and of course Hickok45
I've specifically stuck with all Gen 3 Glocks. Nothing got better after Gen 3 (within the 9mm realm), and they continue to be the Glock generation with the absolute most aftermarket support. Good to see a video from ya!!!
I wouldn’t call it outdated, more like matured. Due to Gen 3s length of exposure it has proven itself in a way that cannot be bought or rush and that is time.
You are on point, T. It's good to see you are feeling good these days. Because of your video many years ago, I own thousands of rounds of HST. Thanks again, from Cheatham County, Tennessee!!🇺🇲
I've always felt the gen3 was the pinnacle of performance in a Glock; even more so concerning the G17. I feel like they changed it just for the sake of changing things. More marketing than anything
Gen 3 with weapon light attached: I recall reading that Glock received numerous reports of cycling issues with a light attached. That got the Gen-4 started.
Glad to see you back man! The Glock 19 has become the IBM PC of handguns. An icon, a standard. When you can build one completely from non-Glock parts it's influence will never die.
Always a good day when tnoutdoors9 drops a video. I miss getting new and informative content from this channel. I’ve rewatched numerous of his videos many times over the years, and the information still stands up.
You are without a doubt a GREAT SHOT!!! You have got to practice everyday. Very impressive man, to say the least. Too much time in between videos.' I know each one costs you, but keep'em coming man!.
Love it. I have 3 Glocks, all Gen 3’s. 19, 22, and 30. Those are the 3 guns I won’t consider trading or giving up for any other firearm in my small arsenal. Thank you, always appreciate any content you provide.
Glad to see you back posting, both here and on GlockTalk. That even made me subscribe! As for your question; nothing really wrong with the Gen3, but for me and my small hands the Gen4 19 gets the slight nod. There's enough revisions with the Gen4 that I look at as actual improvements worthy of making an upgrade to and in turn retiring the older gun. When it comes to the .40 versions, that difference between generations is even greater, entirely due to the dual recoil spring of the Gen4 and the amount of felt recoil reduction as a result. On the 9mm, it's not so much at all, but with the larger, more powerful .40 (and .357SIG) G23/G32 the Gen4 changes really do account for a lot. As for the Gen5; I get the changes that they did to satisfy the FBI's wishes and win that contract. But as much as I loved the finger groove deletion, I disliked the subtle change made to the rear strap of the grip, where the "wow" on the Gen5 G19 now feels even more pronounced and generally just "different" from past generations of the compact Glock frame. YMMV of course, but 30+ years of shooting compact 19s and 23s will taint anyone. But while I'm here, I also have to mention that I REALLY hate what had to happen to the .40 slides (wider, fatter, heavier...and breaks compatibility with past compact sized G19/23/32 holsters), all thanks to the deletion of the upper frame pin in order to make the slide stop ambidextrous...for the FBI (again).
man! glad to see you back,,, excellent choice of yours, mine is a gen 2, all factory except for trijicon sights and 3.5 lbs trigger, it´s equally superb ´n trusty as the first day
After breaking in your share of firearms, eventually, you realize Glock just work. That's the appeal for me anyways. Even if you add a timney, enhanced extractor or mag release. It's a reliable tool you won't care too much about running through the grindstone.
Welcome back! My G22 is Gen3 from 2001. Stock except for NY Trigger Spring because it was a duty weapon. Never failed me. Will outlast me unless somebody melts the frame. Never needed repair.
Glad to see your vids again. Love your channel. Been running Glocks for the last 34 years. From Gen 2 through 5. Run the G45 answer 43x mainly now. Keep putting out the content. Thanks.
My Glock 19 and 23 gen 3 are great. However, I did get a Glock 45 g5 and was very impressed with how it ran on a training course. Can't go wrong with a Glock.
I’m still carrying my Gen 3 G 22 every day at work. Thousands of rounds through it. I do have night sights and a new, steel, guid rod and spring. I done wore out the first one.
Awesome to see you again! Thanks for the great work. BTW, I kept expecting to hear you play jingle bells with your shots. The Bigfoot is a great addition.
I shot my first Glock about 25 years ago and was so impressed with the accuracy that I bought one. I had to send it back to Glock twice due to ejection problems and stovepipes. They finally put a 30274 ejector in and maybe a different weight recoil spring and she has been 100% ever since. Thanks for all you do for the shooting community.
I almost swallowed my cigar, and fell out of my chair when I saw you posted a video. Miss you and the great content you put out sir. Keep them comming.
I just picked up a Gen 3 Glock 32 as my designated, "Road Trip" gun for a few reasons: 1) It can be taken to any US state I can possess a weapon without registration 2) I can swap between 13 and 10 round magazines without giving up too much from one to the other and 3) I'd rather have 10 rounds of .357 Sig than 10 rounds of 9mm. I will say the 10 round 357 Sig mags are all but impossible to find; however, it's very easy to find the .357 Sig followers to install into 10 round Glock 23 mags, which are still pretty common. My Gen 4 Glock 32 will be my EDC in my home state, but I like the idea of having something I can take anywhere with the exception of MA, HI, NY, and NJ. 46 out of 50 ain't bad.
Big fan of the G32 and 357 SIG and that logic works. However, I was getting frustrated with availability/cost of ammo the past few years and "decommissioned" it last year. Still have the 32 but removed the Trijicon sight and moved it to a 19. It's the RTF2 and could serve as a backup 19 or 23 if necessary. And I sold 99% of my 357 Sig ammo to someone who is also highly appreciative of the caliber.
@@tnoutdoors9 I found 1000 rounds of .357 HST on GunBroker last week for $780.00, which was way too good to pass up. I'm usually able to find practice ammo online in quantities that, while more expensive, usually gets me through 6 months at a time. I will acknowledge .357 Sig does take some dedication- it's not something you can just show up to a range and expect to find. Most would take that as a drawback, but to me it's a virtue.
Glade to see your return. Your gel testing video's are still the gold standard. I hope you will honor us with more in the future. Thanks for all your effort. Oh, and by the way, humor still has a place in America.
Welcome back. It's good to see a video from you again. I've watched since the beginning many years ago. It's wild to say so. Hope to see more great content from you soon sir!
I love my gen 3 glock 17.. but having recently taken the glock armorers course from glock I can say that the few minor tweaks they have done to the internals have shown it to run more reliably and for a higher round count than the already impressive gen 3s. I love them all though. But I will carry a gen 5.
@K-bob_45 correct. The gen 5 has their slightly thicker in diameter "marksman" barrel with a recessed crown and hybrid polygonal rifling with sharper edges on the lands and grooves.
@@kevinbachant8811 a specifically more accurate as in, precious generations couldn’t satisfy the accuracy requirements of the fbi contract so they adjusted and won the contract. I emailed Glock once about accuracy testing before shipping and they assured me no Gen 4 leaves the factory shooting over 6” at 15m 🤣
My problem with the Gen 5s are that they are made in the USA, not in Austria. When it comes to Glocks, I want one made by an anal-retentive guy with a funny accent who would feel ashamed at laxing on quality control because of his country's national customs. In America, it's going to be made by a lazy, apathetic Millennial who smokes too much weed and stays up half the work week getting drunk out of his/her gourd. The Japanese, Austrians and Germans are seriously anal-retentive people who take alot of pride in their craftsmanship, which is why they've created such amazing vehicles and/or firearms. America used to have a lot more people like them who made amazing firearms. But no longer. Every US made pistol you buy nowadays have problems - Rugers, Smiths, Sigs, Kel Tecs, Remington, etc. Now US made Glocks are having issues as well. Never used to be this way. That's why the only Glocks I want are Austrian made. If that means buying used/older Glocks or new Gen 3 Glocks that are still made in Austria for the foreseeable future then so be it.
Though I prefer gen 5, I don't care about gen. Just needs to be a glock, and a glock 19. As James Yeager (RIP) preaches, always keep Glock internals OEM and stock. Happy to see you again, fellow Tennessean.
I still have a Gen3 Glock....not felt the need to upgrade to a newer gen yet...(I did put an Overwatch trigger in mine, and a slightly extended mag release...I have small hands). I do like the changeable back straps on new gen Glocks...but again, not enough to trade in the Gen3.
I love watching your videos. Been watching them for years. Always informative and entertaining. I think my first video you made that hooked me to your channel was the Black Magic video for the 12 ga. Absolutely amazing to see and entertaining how you presented it. Keep up the great work! You are always my go to for ammo reviews.
I agree with you, I have about 25 Glocks - All STOCK, well actually not totally…, only changed those plastic sights, buts that’s it…..I have from gen 2 to gen 5…..
Miss your videos and ammo reviews! Hard to beat a G19 or G17. My 1st gun I bought myself for carry at 21 was a G26. Been hooked on them ever since, can’t see buying mags and different striker fired 9mm guns. I do like HK USP and USP compact but Glock wins the striker fired game
*Tommy!* Good to see you, man. It's been a little while. Hope all are well in your neck of the woods. 19's, eh? Yeah, any one of 'em makes as good a doorstop as the next one, I reckon... :-) For actual *shooting* , though? Walther or Sig, TYVM. I see you've gone Gold Dot on carry ammo; I still have all the 9mm critters around here fed on Federal HST LE, based in no small part on your old reviews of recent years - and since the Speer stuff is basically coming from the same place, I reckon that's cool too. Great to see you, hope you'll not be such a stranger from here on...youre missed around here (yes, the damn orange ape too). - Ed on the Ridge
I’m with you…I’ve replaced all my gen4 and gen5 glocks with the gen3. The trigger is slightly better, grip size, simplicity of the recoil spring etc. Thank you the work you put into your videos. You are a legend.
I've been saying this for a few years now. Gen 3 Master Race. The RTF2 is the best texturing from Glock. I find no need whatsoever to change the internals. Night sights and a light and you're good to go! Great video, Bigfoot.
Glad you’re back. Hope you had a nice break. Others try to imitate this channels content and fall short and waste my time “even Wilson combat gel testing.” Appreciate the to the point content keep it up 👍🏻
I like the stock trigger, and mag release of the Gen 5, but can't beat the Gen 3 track record. Good to see you post s video. Been following you since I was 30, now I'm 44, lol.
