I don’t see a world where comics truly die off, they are the main vein for the mainstream pop culture. It would be like pouring a cup of water with no cup. Wonderful video and I hope the show was fun!

30 years ago I used to go to Ottawa Comicon in Landsdown Park. It was straight comics.

That is tough for me to believe because every year I go to NYC comic con. It seems to be packed !!

Small cons are where it is at. Dealers can cut deals because the cost of setting up is so much cheaper!

Kids today if they aren't into fictional characters or superheroes, they are reading manga. And kids today arent into toys, games and collectibles anymore. Their main interest is music and fashion. My 9 year old nephew doesnt want toys or comics for his brithday, he wants a sweater and pants from H&M, Zara or Uniqlo. Or sneakers from Nike or Adidas. Floppy comics has become a hobby for old people who want to feel nostalgic about their childhood.

The only real comic book convention I go to now is at Capital Comic Con in Ottawa. Comic Book related stuff only. None of that crap you see at the big fan conventions like Montreal or Ottawa Comic Con. Great selection of back issues from lots of local and out of town dealers. Highly recommended!!!

Great interview! Were those nylons the L’Eggs ones that came in a plastic egg? Trivia: Star Wars model makers used those plastic eggs for the nacelles of the Y-Wing fighters!

This dealer has a great philosophy in regard to pricing his comics. That law about selling French comics in Quebec is asinine.

Just think the New York Comicon is 60 years and didn't invite its founder of the show. Just think Bernie Bubble and Ron Fradkin were under 18. And they gave away Original Artwork. And Golden Age is hard to find. My view in the past .most Dealers were also collectors. And DC and Marvel worked with us.

There's only a limited number of 2nd hand vintage comics, that's why there's so few vendors who sell them. What happens if people dont sell their collection to dealers anymore? Then, there's no more comics to sell. The vintage comics market is very niche, not a lot of people collect vintage floppy comics nowadays. American floppy comics were originally meant for kids to read them, but these days, only adults buy American floppy comics. Kids these days buy manga. and if they are into Marvel or DC, they only buy trade paperbacks, graphic novels and other forms of collected editions. In 40 years, floppy comics wlll be phased out and Marvel and DC wont produce floppy comics anymore. Right now, Marvel and DC's biggest money makers are movies and TV, not floppy comics. Golden-copper age comics will be part and fall under the antique collecting category.

Pop culture events, not comic conventions. Been to every NYCon from 1989 to 2016, stopped going. The prices are outrageous, and I hate autograph culture. COMICS FOR THE SAKE OF COMICS
