They were definitely getting rid of the jewelry, but the original Hela palette sold out of stock twice. They specifically made a few new units not to “get rid of” extra stock (that doesn’t exist) but to put IN the mystery boxes as an exclusive (Angie explains this on her channel) because the demand would ensure more people buy the mystery boxes. They also did this their first two holiday palettes, completely sold out, made a few more exclusively for the mystery boxes. The other Angie collab just came out six months ago, so I don’t think they’re trying to clean those particular stock shelves just yet. Fwiw, I think it’s a good marketing tactic and from what I’ve seen, every large box got one of the three “exclusive second chance” palettes being offered. I was more than happy to buy one for the chance of getting discontinued palettes, so it worked in the company’s favor.
But if you liked the creator and liked the color story enough then you would have bought it…. I don’t think it was good marketing, they just have influencers that market on their behalf well.

I’m so glad I didn’t buy this. I woulda been mad about the jewelry. I don’t like that. And three palettes at once is a bit much. I don’t have any three but I did declutter Hela without using it.
If I knew this is what they were going to do… I wouldn’t have bought it. I do enjoy the Hela palette but it’s not something I would have bought myself. Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Was really disappointed with mine and it was my first mystery box ever. I love Angelica and i got 3 of her palettes, one of which i already owned.... I love her, think she's lovely, but her taste in makeup, or rather what suits her, is not what suits me, she's very warm toned, i'm cool etc.. So yea, i would have preferred variety. That planet palette has been in every mystery unboxing I've seen, including my own, i bought both boxes. Ugh the jewelry i hate, had I known i would not have bought it.
I am seeing a lot of the same reactions to the mystery box. I hope Odens Eye realizes what they did this year was not ok. I really think Sydney Grace is the best with their mystery boxes that they tend to bring out every July (Christmas in July) and there is always a variety!!
I also picked up the $75 box. I was so dissapointed. I got the Hey Reindeer, Little Ghost and Skud palettes as well as the jewelry. I hate that they included jewelry in the final value. We don't want jewelry, we want makeup.
I got a big box and a small box. I was very disappointed as well. I got a batty bean palette which i didn’t have so happy about that. But i got one of angelica's palette which i already have, and one of the Christmas palette which i already have. Last year was much better because it was a mix of products. I also hate that they put the jewelry, which i hate, cause it's a very personal thing and that jewelry is not it
I didn’t buy this because I had all of the Perfect World palettes and wasn’t worth the risk but MAN if I could’ve guaranteed getting the Hela palette I would’ve jumped on it!! That’s one of my main FOMO palettes. I even bought one of her Helaween palettes to try and compensate and it didn’t strike the same chord of happy with me 🤪 but I would’ve been super bummed about the jewelry too… 😢
I don't own much from the brand, so I thought a mystery box was a good option. My small box contained the Hummingbird and Planet Spirit palettes. I mostly wear color, but I was a little disappointed that there is color overlap in the two that were included.
Mystery boxes are generally a way to get rid of stock you can't shift otherwise. I personally would have loved to get the Angelica palettes in my box. I got Snow Dream and Planet Spirit. I don't think it's bad they put collab palettes in, especially as someone newer to the brand but they should keep it to just make-up. The jewellery 100% sucks and if they put jewellery in next year I will pass.
It still doesn’t give someone (who is new to the brand) a good variety of what the brand has to offer. I did not enjoy the jewelry and I hope this is a learning experience for them. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! ❤️
It's funny cause I remember watching ANGESCHKA's video, as I am a follower, and I could swear she said her palettes could be in there and other limited editions like the Christmas palettes, but not the collabs, unless they meant the most recent ones. I will watch that video again to confirm.
