Hi and good morning. I shared some notebook covers in my previous video on the Retro Men Desk Caddy. You can see that tutorial here... • Retro Men Desk Caddy T... Antonia, from Scrapbookers of Country Craft Creations (a Facebook group here... / 1585111948390881 ) inquired as to a tutorial, so here it is. I will do a tutorial on what I made for the desk caddy, but will add a couple of other options as well. All measurements are given in the video, for the cardstock, patterned papers, and the notepads and sticky notes. I hope you enjoy, it is a quick and easy project and will be excellent for yourself or to give for small gifts. Thanks for watching! Please also visit Country Craft Creations at countrycraftcre... for your papers, including the Retro Men and the What's Cooking (mentioned in this tutorial) and the Artisan cardstock I used, the Art Glitter Glue and Scoretape also used. Have a crafty day!!

Thank you for this. I am making a minimum of 50 of these (the 3x5 notepad one with pen holder) for a Bible Study group event. I have used almost all my patterned scrap paper which is awesome since I had so much and hate to waste. It’s nice to have practical ideas for something economical, as one of our giveaways for all who attend. Thank you!

This is really great! I’ve been making covers and booklets but using separate pieces of chipboard for the front, back, and spine. This is so much smarter! What weight chipboard are you using? Or was that actually brown cardstock?

Thanks for watching 😎I’m using Artisan Cardstock from Country Craft Creations. It’s 87 lb and it’s amazing. It scores like a dream and has a high linen content. It’s the absolute best I’ve ever used. www.countrycraftcreations.com/collections/artisan-cardstock

I wish I could tell you which minute but it’s basically just 2 slits about half inch apart and pushed out.

I didn’t see where you made the pen loop. Did I miss it somewhere? Great tutorials though.
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
Hi. I’m sorry about that! Thanks so much for asking. Measure 2” down from the top of the “spine” of the notebook cover and cut a slit through both “gusset” scorelines , then measure another 1/2” away from that, at 2 1/2” and cut another slit. This is the small section that pops out. It can be any size you need to accommodate the lid of your pen. It can be longer than 1/2” as well. This is just how I did it for this tutorial. I hope that helped. I can’t believe I missed that!

I need some help because the sizes of my notepads are bigger. How would I adjust the measurements. My mini notebook is 4 x6 " and the larger cover is 6x 8" I would appreciate your help. I have made the post it covers. I really enjoy your tutorials Joy from South Africa
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112

Hi. So I did some figuring but did not do a prototype, just wrote it out, so please do a practice piece first. For a 4 x 6 notebook without a pen holder you would use a piece of paper that is 9 3/4 x 9 3/4. On one side score at 6 1/4, the remaining 3 1/2 is the bottom piece that is cut to make the pocket. On the other side you would score at 1/2, 4 3/4, 5 and 9 1/4. Follow the same process for the small notebook. For the larger one (and this is also without a pen holder) you are going to need to join two papers. Without making a pen holder, you would need two pieces of cardstock at 6 3/4 x 12. Score on the 6 3/4 at 1/2. Score on the 12 at 8 1/4, with the remaining 3 3/4 piece being the pockets. Join the 1/2" score from the 6 3/4 sides to make the spine. I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you have any other questions.

My tablets at our dollar tree store measure 3.5in.x5in.could you please tell me the measurements I would need? Thank you
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
The cardstock would be 8 3/4 wide x 8 1/2 tall. Score on the 8 3/4 at 1/2, 4 1/4, 4 1/2, 8 1/4. Disclaimer, I just quickly drew this out. I double checked the math but I’m human. Try on a scrap paper first to make sure. 🤗

Hi. I thoroughly enjoyed this detailed tutorial! I like that you use Art Glitter glue and cardstock as a base instead of chipboard. What weight of cardstock is best, 110lb, 80lb, or 65lb?
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
Thank you, I appreciate your kind comments. I used 87lb cardstock from Country Craft Creations, Artisan Cardstock. 80 and 110 lb would be perfect for this. 65 lb I think is too thin. If you want to get some of the Artisan you can go here, she also has a few colors in 100 lb. www.countrycraftcreations.com/collections/artisan-cardstock. I think it’s the best cardstock out there for everything. It scores beautifully! Thanks so much again❤️

Hi how are you? Could you make a quick notepad cover 5x8 without the pen? I probably could adjust 😅measurements myself. If you have the time. I prefer without the pen, just my preference. Probably will be great for craft fairs and such..Thanks
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112 3 года назад
Just change the width of the cardstock to 10 3/4, then score it on the 10 3/4 at 5 1/4, and 5 1/2. Do the rest the same for the pockets. That should give you the right size.

I hope this is right. I’m at work on my break. So try with a piece of practice paper and let me know if it works. 🤪 for a cover with penholder, cardstock at 10 5/8 x 12. Score on 10 5/8 at 1/2, 4 3/4, 5 1/8, 5 1/2, and 10 1/8. On the 12, score at 9 1/4. Your pockets won’t be as deep but only by 3/4 of an inch.

What is the secret to add your small papers evenly from the edges? Thank you
@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
I just try to make sure that I line up my papers and get my cuts as accurate as I can. That goes for the scoring as well. Make sure the papers are where they need to be before you cut or score. That’s the biggest thing to do. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate your support.
