Notepad++ is my favorite PC app for web design after Google Chrome because of how useful it is for taking quick notes, formatting data, and editing code including HTML, PHP, JS, and CSS (supporting almost 80 code languages in total).
The best part is how lightweight it is - it performs much more efficiently than other bulky code editors or development studios.

Thanks for the info. I use TextPad. It also is similar. One thing that it has that you didn't demonstrate with Notepad++, is a section on the left panel that you can set up with your own stuff. You click on a line and it will insert some code you use frequently. This way you don't have to find it somewhere else and retype it. You can also set it up so if you select some text, then click on the entree on the left, it can put in an open and close tag on each side of your selection. I don't know if TextPad can automaticallly put Tabs in for you (Pretty Print). It has a lot and I have been using it for a about 20 years. Even so, I don't know everything about TextPad. You should learn Regular Expressions. It is awesome for Searching and replacing. TextPad has that feature also. , \t, are Regular Expressions. But there is a lot more to it than that.

Funny you mention that because I have used regular expressions many times in the past, but that's the one thing that I haven't really learned the syntax vs. other code languages. It's a bit more confusing to my brain, and I only need it like 2-3x per year so it never sticks, haha.

Hi Ray. Thank you for your notepad++ Tutorial. I'm working on a new site and I wonder (couldn't find it), how do you view your work in the browser. I went to the view but didn't see that option. Thanks!!!

I just drag the HTML file into Chrome! If it's an advanced language, you will have to upload to web server or install one on your computer (i.e. XAMPP) which run that code like PHP. I don't think there is a "View" option from within Notepad++.

@@RayDelVecchio I've actually figured it out. There is a choice in the "File" dropdown menu. It gives you 3 choices.

Sir I need one help I want to make bot copy the text file and copy in notepad++ from there to excel ..it's my assessment..bot need to take data from the text file they provided and copy in notedpad++ and from there excel

Thanks for this tutorial. I tried Pretty print feature, however the indentation is so large. How do auto-format to reduce the size of indentation to maybe 2 spaces?

Ray, upon clicking this video it was an instant like and subscribe but i gotta tell ya buddy, the light mode is killing my eyes.. mind using dark mode next time to accommodate us dark mode users? or at least make a duplicate video of light and dark mode?

I do not like Windows notepad. I love Notepad++. I use it every day. One of the main things I use it for is to mark-up what I am or should do during the day and for reminders.

Good editor. In earlier versions it loaded huge files without problems, now it struggles with 80MB .sql files.

Well that is if someone manages to gain access into ur system and view ur files,then yes they can see ur notepad.However just don't click suspicious links and stuff and u will be safe

I do that as well, but don't focus on passwords, focus on 2FAs, make that you habit, and you'll be safer. no technology is 100% safe, but surely 2FAs (or MFAs) are pretty safer than plain passwords.

I don't recommend doing that. If you must, at least encrypt the file with something like cryptomator. It would be better to use a password manager exclusively such as KeePassXC, Bitwarden etc.
