Helmed by the young couple, Xiao An and Xiao Qian, old school dishes based on the recipes by their Ipoh Grandma are offered at the stall. Served in claypots, their dishes are homely and unassuming, just like how grandmothers would have cooked for family gatherings, such as claypot black vinegar pork trotter, chicken feet with mushroom, pork belly with salted fish, curry chicken, and more.
Nothing beats enjoying the claypot delights bubbling hot! The black vinegar pork trotter is well-coated with thick gravy that balances vinegary and sweet notes. Its gelatinous meat is so tender that it almost melts in the mouth. The simmerrd chicken feet just falls off the bones with a slight tug. Having absorbed the savoury gravy, Shiitake mushroom in ths dish is meaty and juicy.
Grandma's Taste is gem hidden in the humongous hawker centre. Look out for the BLUE zone, that you will reach the stall (same zone as Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice stall).
