:: I wonder where I float to When I return to dust? A sea to wash away the last of us It's such a funny feeling The world's at war again But in this very moment Oh it couldn't matter less Immersed in deepest ocean The waves all move as one Then separate themselves under the sun And as we sing this familiar song I thought I'm gonna miss your love when it's gone Will it flow into the river Or will it go to waste? Before we drift away Somnus waits for no one A clock without a face Will it feel like an arrest or our escape? And as we sing this familiar song I thought I'm gonna miss your love when it's gone Will it flow into the river Or will it go to waste? Before we drift away I'm gonna hang on this forever Hang on to this forever Hang on to this forever Forever And as we sing this familiar song I thought I'm gonna miss your love when it's gone Will it flow into the river Or will it go to waste? Before we drift away I'm gonna hang on this forever Hang on to this forever Hang on to this forever I don't wanna grow old ::
Moral Panic was my lockdown music, I was literally addicted because it’s an album of great songs. Woke up, turned on NBT. Went to the park to do a workout, turned on NBT. Making dinner, turned on NBT. The sound they have created is unique, it sets them apart from any other current artist. This Monday I finally get to see it performed live and I cannot wait. These guys are incredible, I can’t believe they aren’t playing an arena but in a selfish way I’m glad they aren’t. Everything they touch is gold and brings out the emotion in me. Literal goosebumps relistening to them in preparation for Monday. Bring it on 🎸
listening to this song with my eyes closed transports me to the open sea where I'm all alone being moved around by the waves and lit by the sunlight; truly amazing
I remember when I listened to this song the first time.... I was on vacation with my friends, driving home from the beach in Croatia. Beneath the road was the ocean, in front of us a wonderful sunset that covered the whole sky. A boy was sleeping in my lap an this song started to play. Together with the colours in the sky this music made everything feel surreal and the lyrics touched my heart as it was feeling exactly this. That had been the day we fell in love and in this moment I knew I would hang on to this feeling forever. Nobody would have thought this day, that we would end up together. But here we are, the happiest I've ever been. And this will play at our wedding one day. There is a small number of songs that touched my heart from the very first second and that I could never stop thinking about. And almost all of them are from nothing but thieves. Thank you for this magic
Lost my dad at the end of last summer. It came out of left field and left my family in shock and pain. So much was going on in the world that I was so immersed in. Protests and fires and almost-wars. I stopped caring about anything after he died. It all felt so irrelevant. And now the future just feels bleak and unforgiving. I miss him. There was always hope when he was around. It’s all gone from me now. But this song makes me feel better, at least a bit. Like I’m not the first one to feel this and I won’t be the last.
It's a sore one to lose a parent and I don't think anything eve prepares us for it. It will get easier in time and we accept that they can no longer be with us. Hold on to the memories the sun will shine again for you
Lyrics: [Verse 1] I wonder where I float to When I return to dust? A sea to wash away the last of us It's such a funny feeling The world's at war again But in this very moment Oh, it couldn't matter less (Oh, oh) Immersed in deepest ocean The waves all move as one Then separate themselves under the sun [Chorus] And as we sing this familiar song I thought I'm gonna miss your love when it's gone Will it flow into the river? Or will it go to waste? Before we drift away Before we drift away [Verse 2] Somnus waits for no one A clock without a facе Will it feel like an arrest or our escapе? [Chorus] And as we sing this familiar song I thought I'm gonna miss your love when it's gone Will it flow into the river? Or will it go to waste? Before we drift away Before we drift away [Post-Chorus] I'm gonna hang on this forever Hang on to this forever Hang on to this forever Forever [Chorus] And as we sing this familiar song I thought I'm gonna miss your love when it's gone Will it flow into the river? Or will it go to waste? Before we drift away [Post-Chorus] I'm gonna hang on this forever Hang on to this forever Hang on to this forever [Outro] I don't wanna grow old - Source: Genius
My favourite poetry is Nothing But Thieves' lyrics 💛 like I don't even need the melodies, they're so beautiful. But thank god they can be heard in all their glory too 💛
I didn't think much of this track when it first came out and listened to the other ones a lot more. Recently I revisited it though, and it's been looping in my head for about a week now. It really grew on me
Thank god that we still have a band like you that create a REAL music, not like mainstream artists these days. Only discovered your band yesterday, I am still absolutely gutted after I found out you were in Prague in March :( Will see you next time 100%!!!
I watched a feature on Amazon last night about the Bond theme music used over the years, and they had a tiny segment in the show where a few folks threw out names of artists that should be considered in the future for new songs. NBT would rock a Bond song! These guys could make angels rock and weep at the same time.
I Just woke up at 2 AM with a frightening feeling....Like We Should Save More People. Man and I saw Your thumbnail with the fire....It just struck me at a really odd time. Look Down as Well as ☝
In the deepest ocean , the bottom of the sea....this song is so inspired on weird fishes from Radiohead, even the word ocean that is also in this song and the clean guitars, reverb on the vocals to create a ''ocean'' effect lets say :) The beginning is beautifful, I think the end of the song is a little poprock basic, it might use some more interested musical radiohead stuff in there in my opinion.
