What if Baby doesn't have the the time of her life that summer? What would that look like? She'd be in the corner, listening to her sister prattle on about her awful boyfriend, Robbie. Did she imagine the chemistry with the dreamy-but-complicated dance instructor a few weeks ago? Did it fizzle out because they just couldn't connect when she was learning to dance? If she had been able to practice the lift - would have things have gone differently? It seemed to all hinge on the lift. What's a gorgeous ingenue to do? This wasn't the time of her life As summers go, it was a bit... meh Had she imagined the chemistry with the dreamy (but complicated) dance instructor? It had all been going so well! She had been getting better. Until they tried.... THE LIFT... then everything went wrong. She didn't want to be thrown about. It seemed too risky. He said, "The best place to practice lifts... ... is in the studio." WHAT??? How is that any different? Where else would we practice? Silly dance instructor If only there had been some way to practice safely. But there was no way to practice, without water. SO here she was she. No dance instbuctor. No big, love affair. Nothing. Just her sister going on and on about her creepy boyfriend. And her kindly parents and the never-ending Dad jokes. This was not an epic summer.
