This is amazing! I'm very excited about these updates. This is likely my most favorite updates I've ever seen in my life! How awesome is this! I've wanted forms and email in notion for so long. This is great! Not too thrilled about the side panel yet though.
Right? This is awesome! For the panel, you can always not use it - quite like that about the new approach, you could keep things the same or adapt as you want 😇
Hi Matthias, how come you have "only" 14K followers? I am predicting 100k plus soon! Just discovered your videos. Great quality with a personal touch. Keep up the good work!
I attended the Livestream keynote of Make with Notion and was so impressed that two minutes after they wrapped up, your email came zipping into my inbox, perfectly summarizing all the notes I had taken! Then, a little bit later, your video explained all the cool new features that were unveiled. It's all very exciting!! Good job, Matthias!
Hello Matthias, mega thank you for your great work to keep me and your community up to date on Notion. For me, your videos are always the start of working with the new updates. Thanks to your great use cases, I can always jump straight into my databases and pages to apply the updates. The way you prepare your videos is just great! Best regards Erik
Hey Erik, thank you so much for your kind words! Comments like this really make my day - really appreciate it and happy to hear that they are helpful! 😇❤️
As a startup I hesitated to use Notion, but the lack of Notion Mail and good database automations kept me away from Notion. But now...wow! With these changes it can finally compete with Microsoft.
Oh yes! Still requires a good analysis of your needs (for example, you‘d need a culture of transparency until row level permissions release), but it’s one step closer to actually „doing it all“!
Actually all 3, i need to test which works best with the free version I have. I know forms do from what you mentioned in the video. Thanks for the videos and ideas you give. ❤
Would be so good to be able to use those forms to create quizzes! They could lead to a different confirmation page depending on the results (triggered by a specific property/formula) 🤩. I truly hope that kind of feature is coming (I'm actually already waiting for it for more than a year 😅 sooo 🤞)
@@mfreihaendig Hell yes! And, I don't remember if you mentioned it, but playing with my workspace today, I discovered we could FINALLY save custom icons/emojis instead of having to reupload each time. It's such a ridiculously small improvement, yet it massively reduced my amount of daily sighs already 🤣. Ps, I've checked out the new layout system and omg, this is good! I couldn't stop wowing. 😅 Thanks Notion! I definitely join the enthusiastic crowd about this update 🤗
The layouts don't work in wiki pages. Even worse, we can no longer reposition properties order in wiki pages. Love the feature but I really hope they bring it into wikis. It is kind of a miss in this regard, espcially since all my databases are wikis (clients, orders, invoices, etc.) and that it's not possible either to revert back to a page without losing all properties from the wiki. They should work on this.
Tbh that’s one of the reasons why I never utilise or recommend a wiki to a client - it’s a kind of separate system and the benefits aren’t relevant enough to risk the occasional partial lack of support That being said, should be fixed soon - took around two weeks when the new formulas launched
@@mfreihaendig Appreciate your feedback. I'm indeed starting to wonder if the benefits are relevant, given that it's not that much different from standard pages, on which you can also have filtered views for one main database. Also I do not like how pages stack under each other on the home page, there's no way to have them organized. Hard to go back now that I have setup so many properties on the wikis (7 of them). I guess your advice is sound!
@@MrW0rDs yeah really sorry to hear that - always tough to migrate back! But it’s unclear whether this will get easier in the future, so I‘d rather rip the band aid off now 😅
I am hoping that the email can be integrated with Notion automation, so that the automation can automatically send emails on certain dates or conditions. Also be able to create database entries by forwarding emails to a project or task specific email address.
Thank you very much Matthias for the information. I watched last night's presentation. Do you know if we could add multiple email accounts and have a unified inbox in notion mail?
great video AND GREAT examples. From layount you have great different propierties, move them to section, properties group, own serction pin and panel. Question: What is the porpuse of panel, that I do have it clear
How does the pricing for Notion Email work? will it be included in the cost of notion subscription or separate? or will it be free? Also, do we add our current email to it or do we get a notion email?
Lots of details might change until the launch but as of now it’s a) generally free and b) you use an existing email, but they might add custom Notion domains in the future 💪🏻
Occasionally takes up to 24 hours to reflect in your Notion workspace 💪🏻 Recommend you also go through the steps I outline under Matthiasfrank.de/notion-updates/ - sometimes all you need is a refresh!
I like about use formulas on actions , but why can be use property rollups? Because I am trying to use a rollup and can't be use. my workaround is to have an automation that copies the value, but remove the objective of having rollup function
I have my CRM setup in Clickup at the moment, but I'm finding it lagging behind in features. In your oppinion, what reasons would there be to still stick to Clickup in stead of Notion?
Tbh, I am not a big fan of clickup - but in general, my core question to potential clients is always: do you want a cookie cutter solution that works out of the box or would you rather be able to shape your tools If you just need standard project management for example, another tool might be better suited That being said, certain specialised tools (particularly enterprise grade CRMs) can do things Notion just can’t do atm, so that would be another reason to either switch or supplement Notion with other tools
@@mfreihaendig First, editing. You can’t select multiple blocks and move them easily, like you do on desktop. On Craft, for example, it is really easy. Second, popovers. They looks outdated, they blocks your entire screen. They’re like 50% of experience in Notion, they should be light and fun to use. You can’t rearrange pages in your Workspace on mobile for some reason. There is no home page. Databases are looking unnessary complicated on mobile. A lot of elements, that could be hidden, like filtres and ‘add’ icons everywhere. No new widgets in 3 years (to-dos, calendars, lists). And overall feeling that you can’t organise your Notion on mobile effectively, it always feels like a second-thought product for them. Enen now, when they announced and released Page Customization, there is zero related features on mobile app.

Do you know why i can use the layout function in my work notion but not in my private? I really want to use it but I cant figure out why it doesnt work
Always takes a while for features to roll out - you can check my tips on matthiasfrank.de/notion-updates to find some additional troubleshooting tips 😇
Aktuell braucht man einen Gmail oder Google workspace account - aber sie arbeiten schon an weiteren Integrationen und künftig sogar Notion eigenen Domains
@@mfreihaendig damn! Hopefully in a future update it will happen! I did come accross your chart database in marketplace.... I love this. Great work :) Will have a play with that for now and Forms.
I mean you still need them for more advanced workflows like utm parameters, conditional logic etc Previous feature releases also haven’t killed the dedicated specialised tools
@@mfreihaendig Indeed, but they'll definitely loose free tier people like me, now that I have this in Notion. As a matter of fact, I found it difficult to connect Properties with Tally in the first place, many trials & errors along the way. But I'm sure it's how my brain works (or doesn't haha). I have my piece of mind with Notion Forms.
