There are countless reasons for doubt, but it is possible that the badly weathered rock I found may be a meteorite. It is rather blunt on one end and more pointed on the other. I believe am seeing on either end of this stone the surface erosion one would expect from ablation. I don't want to call them bubbles. They are penetrations into the surface. There are no bubbles within the rock. The terribly interesting feature is what I believe are deep regmaglypts running from one end to the other. Though badly eroded, it appears to me to show this stone entered the atmosphere blunt end forward long enough for ablation and regmaglypts to form in one direction, and then it flipped so that the more aerodynamic pointed end was the leading end. This caused the same type of ablation on the opposite end as well as deep regmaglypts from the pointed end towards the blunt end. It is not magnetic. I cut a small window on one end with a tile saw. There are no bubbles inside the rock, and the surface erosion barely penetrates the surface. The stone is quite heavy, and there are features inside the matrix that may be chondrules. Though it is terribly eroded, I think I can see indications of a fusion crust. All I can say with certainty is that I have an intriguing specimen. I have been looking for someone qualified and willing to examine it. Unfortunately, no luck yet.
