Biggie would like to preface by addressing that he knows what you’re thinking. You’re asking yourself, “What is he drinking?” Turns out, St. Ides is his particular beverage of choice and he assures you that no other beer feels better. His past involved hustling, but he has now put all that to the side to focus more on drinking 22 ounce beers relatively quickly. He does not enjoy drinking any other type of beer.
Biggie would like to expand on his last statement by letting you know he does not like Miller Lite, and would much rather be drinking St. Ides with his friends while relaxing at his house. He also prefers driving in his Mercedes S-600 with several female companions in the back seat of the car. These women will be drinking St. Ides while massaging Biggie's back and shoulders and complimenting his stratified social and financial stature.
Always ran to the television set when this came on tv. Had soooo much fun, and the radio was bumbin the finest cuts in rotation. R&B and Hip Hop was just off the chain.
Me and DJ Pooh did this beat Deadly Threat first! Snoop came through the studio and copped the beat... Biggie was in town during that time and did the Commercial almost on the fly cause the beat was up... There is your Behind the Music moment.. Rashad of The Boogiemen
The song itself isn't a diss, it's saying they don't play in NY and u gotta come show and prove. When Dogg Pound went out there and Kurupt ended up battling hella cats that tested him and he came out victorious they gave DPG they props as some of the best in hip hop. They made the song to show love but after BIG dissed them on the radio (which they heard) THEN they got shot at they got pissed and changed the video treatment. That's why Snoop's kicking over the buildings in the video...
New York New York beat was produced by Dj Pooh. Biggie used this instrumental for this St-Ides commercial then Snoop took it and made Ny Ny with the Dogg Pound. So it was actually meant for a East coast rapper first.
@@tradinwarstoriez5641 lol shes right because i use to see this commercial on bet all the time. I even seen it during an episode of the waynes bros on the wb.
Mane, I used to love this commercial cause big killed it over that track. If anybody can get me the audio of this, I'm willing to exchange 32 complete St. Ides commercials just for the full version of this. Thanks for postin this up!
I remember when this commerical first aired on TV. I was a nodding my head just like he was. lol. I was like "that was tight man!" Those were the dayz.
i hear ya, i went to Jamaica and there were posters of 2pac here and there and I took a cab where the driver was pumping the Makaveli 7 day theory album.
Fun Fact: The instrumental used in this track was later used in a diss track towards Biggie and NYC called "New York, New York" by the Dogg Pound. Dj POOH produced both tracks.
Yes thank you....I knew I heard it someone...these wierdos on here acting like dogg pound used this version. I could've sworn I heard this besides the commercial with the big beat version
No...it was DJ Pooh beats all along & gave it to Biggie for that commercial. Then DPG heard it, liked it & used the same beats but like u said remixed a little bit.
