I hope you enjoy my video. This model has been taken from my collection/stash of 33 1/72 Supermarine Spitfires. (see my video in the link below). As a novice modeller my intention is to learn the various assembly techniques and skills required, especially that of painting, so as i can produce half decent looking models, I concluded the best way to do this is to start with something simple, personally i think the best way to learn a new skill is repetition; try, try and try again. Hopefully by completing these 33 models I will learn a few tricks of the trade. Whilst doing this I am also hoping to improve my VERY basic RU-vid skills, so far just uploading these videos has resulted in tantrums of titanic proportions, yes unfortunately i am also techno-phobic. So obviously I am going to have to learn how to edit videos into a not quite so long and tedious format. I shall be painting and completing the model for your approval in a later film, that is as soon as I have learned how to splice multiple video's together oh £$%&*,{!? So bare with me and hopefully my videos will improve.

Nice one Andy! Here's a lazy tip for you when it comes to cockpit glazing bars. Get a decal sheet with a bit of spare room, any sheet will do so long as it hasn't been used. Paint the cockpit internal colour on the spare part of the sheet, let it dry. Then paint the external colour over the top of the internal colour and let dry. Go over the external colour with a couple of coats of clear, letting each one dry. Cut appropriate sized strips of your brand new decal with a ruler and craft knife and apply to the cockpit. I love lazy modelling.

Thanks @martinoconnor4314 i will try have a go of this, must admit that the cockpit glazings are for me a struggle, have watched loads of vids and tried a few things but just cant get my head around it, currently i think i am doing "old skool" and just painting and scratching/rubbing off with a cocktail stick. every time i try cut masking tape/sheet i just end up with it stuck to my goddam fingers, have been trying maskol recently and on singular glazed pieces like small windows it seems to work but again when i go to the cockpits i just have a bit of a mare .FML LOL.

@@TheNoviceModeller The trick is to get a decent layer or two of paint and then the clear on top so that your "new Decal" doesn't break up in the water. Don't put the paint on right at the edge of the decal sheet or it will stick to the edge of the paper. Most decal sheets have a spare bit of area to paint in. Good Luck mate!

Andy, that build speed should go in the Guiness Book of Records. Those instructions were incredible, It did turn out well, on 1/72 scale that camo scheme is difficult to pull off. Just sent a comment about the Dr Havilland Museum They've had some video shorts on the Horsa and Market Garden, my techno skills won't let me send the links on my tablet, I think you'd find them of interest. Hi Bob, not seen the new comment on the De Haviland Museum. Just finished the Dakota, tried a bit of weathering, to try cover my ooopseys. Horsa should be done and dusted tomorrow as well phew. Thanks the camo on the Testors, Ventura, Hawk came out ok gave me a bt of confidence though TBh cant remember doing a Brit camo since so probs forgot how to do it PMSL.

Hi Andy. A little advice. Do the prop tips and the leading edges of the wings from the cannons outwards , stop before the wingtips and then reset the tailplanes and you will have yourself a very nice little Spifire. Add a set of fin flashes as well and there you go. Do the little bits to get the full effect. I know that you did this one as a quick build , which you did. But now finish it and then you can look at it with pleasure , rather than what could have been. As for speed builds I did a Matchbox P51 built and painted in two and a half hours , including decals. It weren't pretty but it did look right. Good luck bud.

@@TheNoviceModeller Hi Andy. Remember that I was a kid and that it wasn't pretty. But it did look ok. All the decals in the right places a no paint smudges. It was silver which is a bitch to hand paint in enamels. But hey give it a go if you can. You have enough kits to go on. Obviously it can be a fighter and not a bomber. Good luck with that bud.

LOOK GOOD ANDY,LIKE I SAID BEFORE ,TESTOR MODELS WERE CHEAP BACK THEN.THEY WORKED WELL WITH WARGAMES AND FOR BEGINNERS IN MODEL BUILDING. TAKE CARE
