Here is the ND breakdown: Took 5 games for Denbrocks offense to get dialed in. Last 2 games Riley is clicking as a passer and the scheme looks way better. Defense looks good all year even with alot of injuries. That being said, it’s a Marcus Freeman coached team, which means that we have no idea what team is showing up to Met Life on Saturday until Kickoff. If we show up ready to play we should win and cover spread
Im not a Domer homer, but we gotta really start looking at who teams have beaten more than who they lost too. ALL LOSSES are bad like McELroy says.. and it doesn't mean a team is good or bad. Im tennessee fan.... would I rather play NIU or ND? I mean ND should be easier to beat ND since they lost to NIU right? OF COURSE NOT..... ND wins that game 95 out of 100.... it happens but ND is easily a top 10 team and its not even a question to me... and IM not a ND fan.
@raveouscarlias4479 thanks! My grandpa was a huge ND fan so I low key keep up with them some. Unlike alot of fans I actually have a huge amount of respect for ND and love thier history and traditions. I think Freeman is closer to a championship contender than people realize!
ND losing to NIU was the worst thing that could have happened to them, and there is no excuse for it. The only thing to learn from NIU is that Freeman is still an inexperienced HC that struggles to keep his team in line week to week. Other than that catastrophe, ND is having a nice season with a stellar defense, and a slightly underwhelming offense.
Riley hurt his shoulder on first and second drive of NIU game. Coaching loss the game by not putting in angeli. That being said ND is on 2 and 3rd string on most positions. Depth may be a real issue for ND late. Turf feild may be detrimental to our health.
NIU actually has the #3 defense in the country in total defense. So they have a pretty good defense. So it was the wrong opponent to have a really bad game offensively against.
People may hate that ND is being talked about and may have strong opinions on the team but the idea that it’s a bad thing if they get in the playoff is a bad thing is flat wrong. There’s going to be teams every year that get in that people will lose their minds over so, to act like it’s just ND that should get scrutinized makes me laugh.
@@nicholastaiariol2631no they didn’t. Doesn’t change the fact that there’s going to be undeserving teams in every year that aren’t named ND. There’s going to hate for ND is strong.
Notre Dame is a good team with a not so great coach. Sorry, but Marcus Freeman has TOO often lost or under-performed to teams that they have NO business losing to or struggling against. Notre Dame out talents basically anyone except the top 8 teams year in year out. The fact they lost to NIU is a COACHING Issue. The fact Notre Dame lost to Ohio State last year was all on Freeman's horrible clock management/player management at the end of that game. Notre Dame will beat Navy....but they need Freeman to elevate himself to a top tier coach for them to have sustained success.
Did you not expect failures when they hired a first time HC? It's gonna happen. ND and Freeman will be fine. How did they respond after the letdown? That's what you need to look at. Go Irish ☘️☘️☘️
Should they have lost to NIU? No. Is it an automatic disqualification? You can bet that if a SEC team only lost to a MAC team they'd be ranked in the top-5. Nothing short of asinine. Also no.
