The one thing I would say about Weigman, and Leonard for that matter, is that they each practice against top D1 defenses. Schemes will be different but they have been pushed in practice. The big difference being that neither has actually been sacked yet. Weigman unfortunately knows all about playing behind a suspect OL. Not sure how Leonard's was at Duke. Which QB will manage breakdowns in the OL better, because I expect there will be more than a few on each side. I think both OLs will improve throughout the year, but A&M in particular has quite a bit of ground to make up there, and doing it in game 1 of the season , against ND's DL is not a choice time to be doing that.

Noah Thomas was working in the slot during the spring game, but they have listed outside on the chart.

ND didnt lose their center, he lost his starting job when Craig stepped in during his injury. Rod Heard didnt secure a starting spot in the secondary. He will likely still play a bunch especially week 1 with the heat although that's been overplayed as its not supposed to be that hot this weekend. He's going to be their swiss army knife in the secondary. Rumor is A&M lost a second OL starter to injury. Both OLs are going to struggle heavily vs the opposing DLs. Neither will need to blitz. I think A&M losing their starting RB is the dagger in this match up. Yes they have serviceable back ups. But he was the game breaker. ND 27-10.

Comparing A&M's slot/outside efficiency from last year to this year, is a bit sus. Different everything. Weigman is Weigman and the WRs are the WRs, but Elko and Klein are in no way Fisher and Petrino (though only about 50% him, or less). There is really no actual telling what sorts of personnel schemes and preferences they will have. Obviously the ND D will have a lot to say about that at any rate.

The point spread is being skewed by the Aggies, Norte Dame should be the favorite.

The safer pick is ND but I like A&M at home Gig’em!

Notre Dame fan here. The big question is can a young inexperienced Notre Dame offensive line hold their own against one of the best defensive lines in the country. I am not too sure about that. Because of that I am picking Texas A&M to win.

It may come down to the FG kicker. Who have the better one?

Elko knows what to do with Riley in Dukes offense. But he has never seen Riley in Denbrocks offense. Riley knows how to attack Elkos defense since he saw it for 2 plus years.
