First omg what a match I swear I had a heart attack when it said penalty shootouts and then we won come on the lads hope Willock isn't put for long hope he has a fast recovery and it's rlly good to have tonali back come on the toon ⚽️🏴🏳⚽️
What a start !! So quick goal by Joe Willock sensational performance by the return of One and Only Sandro Tonali and this guy are our lads Wow that amazing with him into all premier league and cup game that will be so awesome 🤩 keep going NUFC !
That penalty from Awoniyi is genuinely one of the worst I've ever seen. Reminded me of the time John Carew smashed one almost out of the stadium when we battered Villa 6-0 a million years ago.
I hope Willocks' injury isn't serious... I'm trying to take the positive out of it not being another Achilles injury after he was out so long with that issue.
Although I think we're fortunate to win, it's not because Forest were good, we were lucky because they had no one in the box at the end of their crosses and hence Pope has no real saves to make. We also had all the good chances but that doesn't take away from the fact for long periods we looked... scared? What on earth has happened to this team. We kept sitting back and soaking up pressure, slowed the game down constantly and then gave them time to get back when we "countered". We didn't press them once as we have in the past while every team is pressing us and causing us to panic and inevitably turn over the ball through wayward passes or Pope's two left feet finding them. I hope we are more on it and for sustained periods against Spurs. Penalties are a lottery but the plus is Tonali looked sharp and we ground out the result. Let's just hope we build on the first few minutes and start playing with a bit more courage. HWTL

Gordon had a shot at the keeper, Joelinton did too. Lewis Hall hit the side netting, Barnes had a shot saved by the keeper off a pass from Tino. Thought we pinned them well for the last 10, 15 minutes. Got the win tho!!!!
@@amaanhussain3094 I mean. Nottingham forest is a relegation battle team. We are a champions league challenging team. Yet we barely scraped a win. But I’m just happy we got to the next round.
@@YourAverageKurdishDudeOfficial I hear you, I think the squad will come good and the goals will come back, hopefully the pressing will get better too with a full squad. I feel the same about guys being worked back into the team after injury. But we'll see, I think the Spurs game will be most revealing playing a good side. I'm always gonna be optimistic.
Here's my theory. Burn and Krafth are great at heading, blocking, tackling, all the standard defender stuff. But they are not as good as Schar and Botman at using the ball under pressure and finding space to help the midfield keep possession. So players like Joelinton, instead of a "risky" pass to a defender who's standing too close will try and dig himself out of a press, at a higher risk of being caught, like on Sunday. Our "reserve" defenders are honest professionals and either one can slot in beside Botman or Schar without it having too much effect, but when both first choice lads are out, it's tougher for the midfield to keep possession, and with less possession they can't make as many chances for the forwards. In other words, we'll be fine if Guehi comes in or when Schar (and Botman) come back. On Sunday we found it much easier to get the ball forward on the left after Hall came on for Kelly, because Hall is more comfortable on the ball under pressure.
we lost to them last year, I'm very happy with this win. imagine getting through to the group stages of the champions League via a bogus handball decision. You mud.
